Life of Misery - Philis London

    Prologue

Kelly’s first bad experience at the age of six years old, was with Linda and Joe. Linda and Joe, a couple that went around picking up girls and boys around six to thirteen years old, for molestation or sex. Then made porn movies of them and the children, for sale. There was big money in this type of thing. They would get the children into their home, then drug the children by putting cocaine into cup of hot chocolate. The boy or girl would drink it not knowing that they were being drugged. By doing this Linda and Joe would have control over the boy or girl. This way the children wouldn’t give them any problems or fight with them to get away.

Sometimes Linda and Joe would have the children with them for weeks at a time, before they would let them go. Then sometimes Linda would give the boy or girl too much cocaine and the poor child’s heart would stop and she or he would die. Joe would take the child out into the country or up into the hills with lots of trees and dispose of their bodies. Very sick people, they were caught and sent to prison for life.

The second time Kelly experienced a sexual attempt at Ted’s house. Kelly at seven years old, after the Linda and Joe incident. Ted in his sixties, a lonely old man enjoyed having Kelly down to his house. At first it was the enjoyment of having someone to talk to even if it was just a few minutes. Then one day he asked Kelly if she would like to have some cookies and milk. Kelly was a little hesitant about going into the old mans house along, especially after what happened the year before with Linda and Joe. But she thought that maybe the old man Ted would be an Ok person.

So she went into the house with Ted, boy was she ever wrong about him. Once they were inside, Ted sat her at the table where he had sat the cookies and milk. After she had finished the first cooky, Ted persuaded Kelly to sit on his lap, supposedly so Kelly could reach the cookies better. Then he proceeded to molest Kelly. She finally got away from him and ran home, never went back to Ted’s house again.

About two years later Kelly’s Father let his cousin Marion and wife move into his home with them. Marion ended up having a sex act with Kelly. One day Marion took Kelly with him to have some tires put on his car. He had taken Kelly with him many times before; nothing would or had happened while they were out.

When Kelly was nineteen years old, everything seemed to be going very well with her and her boyfriend Tim, until one evening Tim had arrange for her to met some of the guys that he worked with at the horse race track. Little did she know what was about to happen that night when they went to the race track, while there Tim made love to her. After words Tim called the other guys in, told them she’s all yours. Two guys held her down while the other one raped her. This went on until all four of them had their turn with her. After that Kelly hated Tim for what he did to her, and setting her up for rape. She never went out with him or even seen him again after that. She never told anyone about all these incidents that had happen to her. Except for the Linda and Joe incident, the reason that incident came out into the open was because the police was involved.

Three years later Kelly met Sue in which she became Kelly’s best girlfriend. Then Kelly met Donald, eventually they got married. Several months of marriage later Donald lost his job and started drinking, which lead to fights. One night after Kelly got off work Donald lost it when they got into a fight, he beat her up, this put her into the hospital. This was the end of their marriage.

Four years went by, after being married for the second time, lost her husband Dan in a plane crash. Which Dan owned the plane, and flew himself. Kelly took up painting and bicycle ridding. One day she rode her bike down a bike trail that went through Wilson park, half way down the trail she stopped to get a drink at one of the fountains, when a man grabbed her and pushed her down to the ground and raped and kicked her. Someone found her laying on the ground not moving, the person call for an ambulance Kelly went to the hospital.

Two years went by she met her third husband Mike, on their way back from Hawaii, fairly close to California coast the plane that they were on crashed into the Pacific Ocean. Mike died in the crash. Kelly and some of the other passengers survived the crash. She was real broken hearted over this one. When she got safely home she started to drink cause she didn’t want to live anymore.

After losing her father to natural death and her mother in a car accident. She starting bowling and met Jim. They played on the same team in the bowling tournament. Month later Jim taught Kelly how to ski. Then one weekend Jim wanted Kelly to go skiing with him. She didn’t want to go that weekend, so Jim ask his friend Rick to go with him. Rick was Jim’s best friend, when they got to Mt. Hood just outside Portland, Oregon, Jim wanted to go down a slop that he’d never been on. Besides the resort just opened that slop up for skiing. While they went down the slop Jim went off a ledge that he didn’t know it was there. When Rick got to the ledge he could see Jim at the bottom all twisted and not moving. Rick called for help, by the time the rescue people got to Jim he was dead. Jim fell in a way that he broke his ribs and one rib punctured his heart and bled to death.

    Chapter 1

Art Vickers moved his family from Mississippi to Limon, Colorado. Marge was pregnant with their first child. Art found a small farm in Limon shortly after they got there. Art started right away on building their new home on the property in the middle of six trees, at one side of the 5 acres. There’s a river running a long side the trees at the south west side. Art is a 5' 9'' tall man with blue eyes and blonde hair. He always wore coveralls and plaid shirts. He loved wearing coveralls cause he didn’t have to worry about being dirty working in the fields.

Marge is a lady with black hair and blue eyes. She’s 5' 8'' tall. At this time she’s very much pregnant she kept herself busy with washing clothes on a wash board and tub, cooking meals and making baby clothes. All while Art plowed the fields and planting seeds for the winter meals. At the end of summer Marge canned up fruits, jams and vegetables for winter. She had barely got the canning done when she went into labor and had their first child. They had a baby boy and they named him Art Jr. July 10, 1914.

A year later Willy was born on August 15, 1915, next came Lottie and then Donny is the youngest. When Willy was three years old, Art and Marge (Willy’s parents) moved from Limon to Palisade, Colorado. Palisade is a small town with just a main street, starting at the east end of town there’s, Bus station, Police Department, Cannon grocery store, a Theater, Jake’s dinner, and a Department store. Also a Gun and fishing store, a slaughtering house, for cows, pigs and chickens. The Elementary and the high school is located half block out of town on the other side of the of main street starting at the west end of the town. There’s a Gas station across from the slaughter house, Dentist office across from the Gun ‘n’ fishing. Then Court house across from the Department store and across from Jake’s dinner there’s a Barber Shop, across from the theater is a Doctor’s office. And right by the Doctors office is a very small hospital. The Fire department sat by the Doctor’s office across from Cannon’s groceries Out of town down about a block out from the Fire Department sat the Baptist church and the only church in town that all the towns people went to church at. There were several house back behind all the business’s, that’s the size of the town.

Art bought a house on land of 10 Acers about a half mile out of the west side of town from the slaughter house. Art had gotten 12 cows, chickens, and 2 pigs. On 5 Acers of the land, Art plowed and seeded the ground with tomatoes, corn, lettuce, carrots, potatoes, beets, radishes, bell peppers, and grain. Even some pumpkin some times. Art and another farmer supplied the town grocery store with all the meats and vegetables.

By the time Willy turn 10 years of age he began to help his brother Art Jr. and father with harvesting all that Art grew on the land. Willy and his brother would seed the land after Art would plow and make rows for seeding. They worked the land and when everything was picked, box and loaded onto the truck, Art would drive the load to the Cannon’s grocery store. Year after year this is how Art made money for his family.

Five years later Willy got a job at the saw mill on Saturdays. Art Jr. the oldest worked at the grocery store. Donny just stayed home and helped their father with the farm. Donny the youngest only got to the third grade and had to quit school for his mind didn’t develop like the other kids. The Doctor didn’t know why. So Donny dropped out of school, for school was too hard for him.

Lottie Willy’s sister, worked at the Department store since she was 14. Willy would help his father as much as he could on the farm after school. It was getting hard for him to go to school and work. But he only two years to go with school, and he wanted to finish. So he continued this routine of school, work and helping his father.

Two years later Willy graduated from high school. He worked full time at the mill, 5 days a week. And helped his father on Saturdays. By this time Willy had grown into a 6' 2'' handsome man. His hair is a blonde color, with blue eyes and he wore blue jeans most of the time. He liked to help people whenever he could.

Robert and Galena moved to Raymond, Colorado from Missouri. Robert’s a brown haired man with brown eyes at 5' 8'' tall. He was a policeman while in Missouri and continued in Raymond, Colorado. Galena was pregnant when they made the move. Galena is a 5' 4'' lady with blue eyes and blonde hair. Six months later she had their first baby. They had a baby girl. They named her Ann she was born on June 20, 1922.

At the age of two Ann’s parents(Robert and Galena) moved to Palisade, Colorado. Robert (Ann’s father) bought a house just outside of town, at the other end of town behind the Fire department, and the church. Robert became a Deputy at the town jail. By the time Ann became sixteen she was the oldest of 8 others. She has 4 brother and 4 sisters. Robert Jr. Came after Ann. Peter is the third one Caroline is the forth one. Rosalyn is the fifth and Ronald is the sixth one, then Tony came along for the seventh one. Shannon is the eighth one and Cindy is the ninth one.

Ann is now 4' 9'' tall and she has blonde hair and is an attractive young girl. She’s a soft—more in high school. So Ann and her brothers and sisters didn’t have too far to go to school. They would walk down main street, down from the Fire department passed the Dentist, to get to school. Her brothers and sisters were in elementary school, would walk to the other end of the building. Robert Jr. And Ann went into the high school on the other end of the building. Sometimes they would walk to the store and get 10 cents worth of candy. This would get enough for all of them. Along towards the end of the school year when they walk to the store Ann asked the owner (Mr. Heart) if he needed some help in the store. She told him she needed to get a job after school. The owner in his white shirt, dark blue pants, white apron, with his gray hair, told her that he could use her as a bagger. Do you want to be a bagger?

Ann said, I’d love to do that.

Mr. Heart said Be here right after school on Monday, Ok.?

Ann said I’ll be here Mr. Heart. Ann was so excited she could hardly wait to get home to tell her mom.

Monday after school Ann started her job at the store. She walked to the store and her brothers and sisters went on home. When it was time for Ann to get off work Robert Jr. And Peter walked to the store to walk Ann home. This way she wouldn’t have to walk home by herself.

This continued for 2 years. Then Ann graduated from high school. And now she could work 5 days a week, at the store. One Friday after she got off work she asked Shannon and Cindy if they would like to go to the theater and see a movie. They both said they would love too. So off they went to the theater. When they got there Ann got the tickets for them. They walked over to the snack bar and Ann got pop corn and sodas for them.

Willy and his brother Donny just happened to be there too. Willy seen Ann and walked over to Ann and introduced himself to her and ask her what her name was. She told him, her name. They stood there and talked for while.

While they were talking Ann’s sisters said Come on Ann we are going to miss the show.

Ann turned and said, Ok I’m coming.

Willy and Donny followed Ann and her sisters. They all sat in the same row and watched the movie. After the movie Willy and Donny walked Ann and her sisters home.

Willy ask, Ann would you like to go to the movies next weekend?

Yes I would like to. See you then. She replied

Willy said, Ok it’s a date.

Then Willy and Donny walked on home.

Well, you could call it love at first sight from the first time Willy saw her from this day on. From that day on life was without solitude but with reason. As they dinned out, went to movies, and took time to go to a spot on a grassy hill and have a picnic, they had a chance to get to know themselfs better. On hot summer days they would drive down to the river and swam, sometimes they would get intimate.

After six months of dating, one evening when they were at Jake’s dinner when Willy purposed to Ann.

He kneeled down in front of her at the table they were sitting at and said, Ann will you marry me?

Ann was so surprised, I would love to marry you. she said.

While they were eating they started to plan for the wedding. Willy ask Ann, What day do you want to get married on?

Ann said, Hmmmm I don’t know. Then she thought for a moment. Know we could get married on April 5.1940. Witch was seven months away she thought then continued to say. This will give us time to make all the arrangements, don’t you agree?

Willy said, That’s fine. But he really wanted to get married sooner than that, but he was so much in love with her that he agreed. He thought besides I can have her all to himself at that time. But let’s not have a very big wedding Ok?

Ann said, No, we don’t need to have the whole town at the wedding. Just our mediate family.

She hesitated for a moment then said, Do you want Art to be the best man and Lottie was one of the brides maid.

Willy said, That would be great.

They talked about the wedding all through their dinner. After their dinner Willy took Ann home.

A few days later Ann was talking to Mr. Heart her boss about getting married and she didn’t know where she was going to get her wedding dress. Mr. Heart mentioned to Ann about Mrs. Hopfield. So Ann went to see Mrs. Hopfield who was the only one in town that did sewing for the people in Palisade. Mrs. Hopfield is a widower, she’s around 45 to 50 years old and she does very well at making clothes. Mrs. Hopfield worked out of her house which is behind the Court house. She told Ann that she would make her wedding dress for her. And she would have it ready for Ann by the end of February 1940.

One Sunday after church Ann was thinking about the wedding so she went into Robert Jr’s room. She thought, Robert Jr. is an artist, he could make the invitations. So she ask him if he would make up her invitations.

Robert Jr. Said, Sure Ann I’ll make the invitations for you.

Ann ask Robert Jr., I want to invite our parents and Willy’s parents. Also invite Willy’s boss and her’s along with their children.

Robert Jr. Said, I’ll make a few more just in case you need more.

So Robert Jr. did a little bit each day on the invitations after school. He had plenty of time to get them done. The months went by pretty quick, but Ann wished that the days would go by faster. Finally February came and Ann went and picked up her dress. Robert had the invitations done, so all they had to do was wait for April 5 to get there.

Willy and Ann went out on Saturdays and looked for a place to live after they were married. Saturday before they were to get married they went to see a little house that looked like a cottage house. It sat by the Elementary school behind the gas station. The cottage is a two bedroom house. The kitchen and the living room is small. It has one large bedroom and the other one was very small. Just big enough for one child if they were to have one.

They walked into the house and Ann said, This place is so cute, I like it don’t you? as she turn to Willy.

Willy told her, Yes I like it, it’s just right.
