Looking out of the window of her Malibu estate with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Jane Seymour is in reflective mood ahead of her 70th birthday on 15 February.

“To me, age is just a number and I feel pretty young,” says Jane, who recently topped a list of the sexiest female screen actresses over 60, ahead of Dame Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda and Susan Sarandon.

She shares her life with British film producer David Green, with whom she’s been in a relationship for almost eight years, and doesn’t see the big 7-0 as a barrier to anything in life.

“It was my mother’s message: not to live in regret, to realise that life will be challenging and learn to accept even what seems unacceptable and find a way to move forward,” says the star, who moved to the US in 1976 and has been married four times.

Jane credits a Mediterranean diet and regular Pilates for the fact that she looks a good 20 years younger than her age and has maintained the same weight since her teenage years.
