Kevin Collins was last seen petting a dog

Flying around the house, ten-year-old Kevin Collins was just like any other energetic little boy.

With eight siblings, it’s no surprise that Kevin was a loud character in the house.

But outside, he was very quiet and shy.

In group activities, he would socialise with one of his brothers, particularly 11-year-old Gary.

They were both a part of the same basketball team and would regularly travel to and from practice together.

However, on the evening of 10 February 1984, Gary was poorly so Kevin was forced to go alone.

Living in the Western Addition of San Francisco, the family considered it a safe neighbourhood and were happy for Kevin to get the bus alone.

After practice, at roughly 18.30pm, Kevin turned down a lift home from his coach
