About this ebook
George Criner Green
My name is George Criner Green, I was born in Waco, Texas to the parents of Andrew Green and Florine Criner Green. After graduating from A.J. Moore High School in Waco, Tx, I attended Bishop College in Dallas, Tx, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Entering college, my first choice was a major in Music with aspirations of becoming a composer. I later changed my major studies from music to sociology. I discovered that I enjoyed writing poetry more than music. The poems that I write emphasizes my feelings and imagination of true events in my life, places I have been and people that have made an impression on my life.

Dedication
This book is dedicated to two of my lifelong friends, Evelyn Holmes Vick and Froswa W Johnson, who both had a significant input in the production of this book. As fate happens, they both passed away before seeing the completion of a book that represents parts of our lives.
In honor of Evelyn and Froswa, I named this book, The Special Request
. I wish they were here to enjoy it, but I know they are resting well with God.
I Can
I can climb a Mountain,
To it’s highest peak.
I can sail
The Seven Seas
That the sailors seek.
I can swim the Oceans,
A lake, river, or pond.
I can run the extra mile,
I can finish a marathon.
I can fly with the eagles,
Well, in a plane I can.
I can out think the slyest fox
Ever known to man.
I can be a leader,
I can lead others right.
I can stand and defend myself,
When it’s time to fight.
I can be a follower,
A small member on the team.
I can give all I’ve got
