INTRODUCTION
The title Love Me Rebel Love Me is an explanation of how the author, Byron Shane Chubbuck, perceives his life. As a young man, Byron spent time with both sets of grandparents, Native and Celtic, learning and experiencing the wonders of both cultures. He began writing poetry at a young age to express his love of the Southwest and the travels that he took to various places in the Southwest and through Indian Country. This book is the journey of his life, moods, troubles and hardships; showing his love of the land and the women he loved through his journeys.
Byron won 2 poetry awards, in his early to mid twenties which encouraged him to continue his writings. His later writings done in prison came from the memories of his life as a rebel.

200.jpgSOLDIER SONG
On and on they go, the soldiers
of Rock and Roll, with the blood
sweat and tears, they burst out
from nowhere. Like a shining Cadillac,
they’ll never be coming back, to
guitar skid row, the place that they
all know. Well, sitting around, late
at night, everybody feels just right,
when Rock and Roll fills their soul.
There are no limits in life. Here
they come again, the soldiers of
Rock and Roll, strolling down the
street. Oh, can you hear the beat,
coming down the street. Everybody
knows the soldiers of Rock and Roll.
Everybody comes out on the street to
greet them. Yes, everybody loves
the Soldiers of Rock and Roll.
THE GIRL CALLED SUCOSA
She walked with a sexy confidence.
Nothing seemed to rattle her cage.
She seemed so free, so full of love.
Times I fell over things, thinking of her.
She has rich dreams, big, big, brown eyes.
She is the Sucosa of my life time.
Her cede for me was soft and quick.
She is capable of calculations of greatness.
I was madly in love with her ways of holding me
and kissing me. There is no other like her,
in my life to come. Her body was warm, and lush,
like a rose bud at midnight posed in the moonlight.
She could make me feel ten feet tall,
turn around and make me drop like leaves in
the fall. She was Sucosa, a Saucy Mexican
beauty, leaving her mark on me with grace and
poise.

FOR SUCOSA
Time and time again, I have suffered
in the wind.
Time and time again, I have found
nothing within.
Life is such a blast, you know!
Going places you do not know,
Meeting girls, lovely curls, eyes
so soft and gentle.
There is a place on a woman’s face,
that twitches when she loves you.
If you see a twitch and she does not itch,
hold this girl and kiss her.
I found a place in the human race,
Where a lady I love could infold me.
But it is not hard to see, at least for me,
I like this place because she would stay here.
I like the words that make you look like you
deserve everything you have gotten!
Even though I don’t, I’m not a goat and
love being spoiled rotten!

MY SOUL
Down upon the water that’s where I’ll play
Sounds of harmony that make an old man sing.
Rhythm that makes you dance with the happiness
that it brings.
No, I won’t write the song that makes a young
man cry,
I won’t write the song that makes the young girl
