    INTRODUCTION

A ND THE GOVERNMENT shall be upon his shoulders. This prophesy simply put means that Jesus, Immanuel, Messiah shall be in charge. Some would have a hard time believing that after centuries of men ruling the earth that man will someday have to surrender his rule to Jesus Christ. It’s going to happen just as the prophets foretold that it would. If someone would have said in 1963 after President Kennedy’s assassination that America would have an African-American President in the next 50 years, nobody would have believed it. When I heard that an African-American man was running for the Presidency, and his name was Barak Hussein Obama, I thought the media was trying to be funny by giving him a Muslim name. I felt that there were two strikes against the man from the beginning. One, he was of African decent. Two, he had a Muslim name. Third, he came out of nowhere. He was not a part of the Dr. King camp as Jesse Jackson, or Ralph Abernathy was. Black America had to be introduced to who this was this man of color. It just goes to show that the world is round and it is in constantly changing. And because it is ever changing many get left behind.

The Children of Israel did 400 years of slavery in Egypt. No one would have believe that this would change, that someday, a people who had been in captivity for over 400 years would be free and living in upper middle-class status in two days. In this world, we have a tendency to think in order for freedom to come, that nation of people who are considered inferior has to rise up on their own and overthrow the dominate nation. Israel didn’t have to do that. India didn’t have to do it to free themselves from the British. The Mexicans who lost Texas to the settlers in the early 1830’s didn’t. In fact, President Bush came to an agreement with ex Mexican President Vincent D. Fox that he would allow Hispanics to come to America and be the working class for corporate America. Now Corporate America can obtain cheap labor. In exchange, this would stimulate the Mexican economy because a great portion of the money would be channeled back to Mexico to help families survive. In the court of law, or when justice rings, the people that was wronged will get back what they’ve lost and they will also be paid for the pain and suffering endured. So the Mexicans lost Texas, but in the deal that Ex-President Bush contracted, Mexican are employed nationwide and government assistance at 100%. Healthcare, housing, transportation, etc… has been granted. America is in an uproar because of the Immigration laws being passed that provide government assistance to illegals. But the reality of it is that in 1836 Stephen F. Austin, the man who the capital city of the state of Texas was named after, he and 300 other immigrants came into the land of Mexico, which today we call Texas. They were allowed to settle here in the northern part of Mexico as immigrants so long as they abided by the Mexican government laws. When Austin came from Arkansas to Mexico (later day Texas) they had in mind to colonize northern Mexico (Texas). When I use the word Colonize in laymen’s terms it means to take over and form your own government, culture and way of life. Stephen F. Austin approached the Mexican government requesting that the government allow him and the other 300 families that came with him from the United States to own land as immigrants. The Mexican government agreed with stipulation that they abide by the Mexican government laws. One of the main laws was that they could not own slaves. Slavery was illegal in Mexico. The refusal of Stephen F. Austin and the 300 others who came with him to live under Mexico laws started the Spanish-American War. When the word got out that Austin and 300 other families were in Northern Mexico fighting to take over land, there were armed citizens from Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky that came down to help them fight against the Mexican government. Armed men from Birmingham, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, Memphis, Tennessee. The immigrant settlers eventually overtook the Mexican Army when they captured General and President San Antonio Lopez of Santa Ana at San Jacinto. They forced him to sign over the deeds to the northern region of Mexico in 1836. They allowed him to return to Mexico, where the government put him in exile for what they called treason. That ended the Spanish-American War. So now that the Mexicans are considered immigrants and they are asking for an opportunity to come live in the United States as immigrants with opportunities for citizenship. The government is recognizing the past wrong. This is way I firmly believe that President Bush made an agreement with the Mexican government to allow their citizens to come here to work and live, which in turn helps Mexico as a country because it brings revenue across the border. This illegally taking of Mexico over 150 years ago is being compensated without a war. Who would have ever thought in 1970, that Hispanics would come to America and become a legitimate force politically and social. So when the prophets proclaim that change is coming, and despite what it may look like from the human eye, change will come and what use to be owned and operated by the powers that be, will be no more. The only government that will exist is God’s government.

    CHAPTER ONE

    FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

F ROM THE AGE of seven I began watching professional football on television. It wasn’t long after that I begin to dream of someday playing in the National Football League. Several years later I put those dreams into action by signing up for pop warner football for youth. I was in 6 th grade, 12 years old and 88 pounds soak and wet. I almost wasn’t allowed to play because I was too little. Despite the lack of weight, my heart was 80 of those pounds. In other words, I wasn’t afraid to get out there and mix it up with kids bigger and faster than myself.

By the time I got to 9th grade I had made a name for myself and I was good enough to try out for varsity going into my 10th grade year. Let me be more specific, had I continued playing in the Wayne, Michigan where I made a name for myself, I would have been playing varsity football as a 10th grader. My senior year was very disappointing from the standpoint that I wasn’t getting the recognition that I felt I deserved. The vision of seeing myself someday playing in the NFL was slowly fading. But I wasn’t done fighting for a chance to live out my dream. There was a lot more truths that had to be revealed to me before I would begin to see things as they really were, and not what I had imagined them to be.

I graduated from high school in 1980. I didn’t play my first division I college football game until fall of 1984. Which meant that it took me four years just to play the game that I so loved. In fact, by the time I started playing college football, my high school classmates was graduating from college. Now are you getting the picture? I had grown bitter towards the game that I once loved. Moreover, when I finished playing the two years, I turned down an invitation by the Detroit Lions to try out for their team. I didn’t watch football for the next 4 or 5 years. The game had left a bitter taste in my mouth. I felt that coaches were some of the most dishonest people on earth. It was hard for me to believe that what I had envisioned about the game of football, was a farce. Looking at the game from the eyes of a youth, once I became a young adult, the game was nothing like I had imagined. The politics of the game was sickening. The favoritism, the lying, and backbiting. All of it was just one great big disappointment to me.

This is how life is. When you’re young, you have all these dreams and aspirations. You want to go to college, get a degree and a great paying job. Get married and have a family and grow old together. This is how the world looks when you’re young, but you’re standing on the outside of adult responsibilities. As you get older the complexities of life begin to enter into the equation. Take for example the situation confronting my aunt and uncle who were newlyweds. My uncle was an up and coming lead singer for a local Detroit group. In fact, they had gotten an invitation to perform on Soul Train a national syndicated show. In the 1970’s when you get an invite on Soul Train, you have made a major step towards success. Well my uncle was spending a lot of time out in California trying to pave a career for himself, so that in turn he will be able to take care of his family. It was his wife, (my aunt) and one son. Well, my aunt didn’t like the fact that he was spending too much time away from home. She wanted the money, but she didn’t want him away from home. So she eventually game uncle an ultimatum. Either he come home for good and give up his singing career, or she’s leaving him. Well, out of love for his wife, (my aunt), my uncle gave up his music career, to salvage his marriage. Several years passed and my aunt met a musician
