About this ebook

Looking at the history of America, this author questions what makes certain white Americans display many acts of evil and demonstrate so much hate toward black Americans? How can America call itself a Christian nation while demonstrating very little spirit of cooperation toward black Ameri-cans, beginning with the Emancipation? To move forward, history tells us America must not repeat the evil and hate of the past.

Whites Shall Overcome - Bubbha Thomas

Trust! Trust! Trust! was a word most banished by white Americans when talking about the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. White Americans tried to plant the seed that the former President couldn’t be trusted, not only in this country but world-wide. This may not be a fact because I’ve never spoken with the former President one on one. However, he struck a nerve when he talked about Christianity and the American people. Phrases like less than loving and cheap shot are often words associated with things he said. Given white Americans history and treatment of the American black population, lack of trust is something black Americans have experienced first-hand in this country. Based on that argument, who comes out on top?

Challenges of true Christianity through the black experience, white America’s actions don’t match their words. As the author sees it, Christians have always talked out of both sides of their mouths, saying one thing and practicing something all-together different. Black Americans in this country should know, even if there are many who do not admit they know. There are so many examples the group can offer which have been said in the name of Christianity that haven’t been true, or should I say, no application when applied to the real world. So, when the former President spoke about Christianity and white America, white Americans pulled out all of their big guns like, "Father this, and Rev. that"; you know there must have been a nerve struck.

White Americans need to be trained in race relations to tithe 100% with their hearts. It’s very clear that after more than one hundred years of attempting to have the government solve America’s race problems, a real examination of the hearts of white Americans is urgent. In the beginning, had 100% tithing from the heart been the driving force, America today could devote more time and energy toward other concerns. It makes one wonder, how could Christians who are supposed to understand the tithing principle, not understand the principle of tithing with the heart when it comes to America’s race problem? What forces drive these God-fearing white Americans to keep this train speeding down this wrong track? As smart as white Americans claim to be, this century plus six decades old problems’, whites refuse or don’t wish to deal with and solve. The biggest question remains, What drives this insane behavior? In the race-relations area, what keeps white America from tithing 100% with their hearts?

America’s race problem can only be solved by white America’s recognition and ownership of the contributions their roles and actions have played and continue to play in America’s race problem. In this sense, not tithing 100% with the heart, goes far beyond words of a policy on a piece of paper. Core to this action is a pattern of negative behavior. What it really comes down to is a change in white Americans’ hearts. In this case, the pattern of behavior towards black Americans must change.

On June 1, 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation and later the Separate but Equal Act: both of these policies were supposed to be designed to correct sins and bad behavior of the past. If, however, 100% training for tithing with the heart was part of the solution, the behavior of white Americans would most certainly have been different, with the heart being the centerpiece of the solution. For a Christian nation, on matters of the heart dealing with black Americans, white America had, and still have today a very difficult time. White’s behavior dealing with the Emancipation should’ve been from the heart and extending their hands to aid in the transformation of black Americans, with resources set aside for this process.

In addition, resources for the training of white Americans should’ve been at the top of this list. Yet, today, whites’ tithing with their hearts still isn’t in the mix. Instead of being trained to be free from restraint, control, and power over black Americans, the Emancipation Proclamation served to provide a policy of LEGAL COVER for white America. In the spirit of 100% tithing with the heart, programs should’ve been designed to help black Americans enjoy the rewards of the Emancipation. Tithing with the heart wouldn’t have included development of our current DUAL (schools for whites and schools for blacks) educational system, a conflict between antagonistic persons, ideas, and forces. Tithing 100% with the heart would have included ONE educational system. Also, the right to vote, the right to live anywhere in the USA that one could afford and the right to eat in places that one could afford. A serious matter of the heart, America proved just how serious it was about the Emancipation with behavior of posting signs throughout the country of COLORED and WHITE only.

Maybe many white Americans should re-read the Holy Bible, better yet, review the word trust as in faithful, or how about assured reliance on the character? What about ability, strength, or how about truth of someone or something in which confidence is placed. White Americans do not want to be held accountable for their actions so just maybe there are two accounts of the Bible, you know, do as I say, and not as I do. For years, white Americans have needed to be called out, and who best to do this, other than the most powerful man in the world. As the author sees it, black American ministries should have been doing this down through the years. I guess it seems as long as they (black ministers) can have large audiences and rack in large sums of money, they refuse to call-out Christianity for the conditions in their communities; ending slums, low and no employment, schools, housing, education and other shared dreams and Christian values that continue not to exist in black America.

Had 100% tithing with the heart been the goal of white America’s behavior with the Emancipation, this concept would have never given birth to the Civil Rights Movement. One must remember in the early stages of the Emancipation, legal cover made it lawful for white Americans to practice many laws of bad behavior.

As a young boy growing up in America, I experienced many acts of institutionalized white privilege (I.W.P.), memories that live with you the rest of your life. It’s not like writing on a black board where you can erase things when you want to. I remember how my father, in the 1950’s, was treated at a gas station in Houston, Texas when he went to get gasoline for the family car. There were shouts like, Hey Nigger-boy, you can’t get gas now, wait until the white people fill-up. As long as there were whites waiting to get gas, even though they may have arrived 15 to 20 minutes after my dad and I had arrived, we had to wait. My father was a Baptist minister and took this abuse and humiliation being very humble. While on the other hand, I was outraged to say the least! My thoughts were, How dare you treat my dad, the man I loved and had much respect for like he was nothing? I know my father did not appreciate this negative behavior on the part of white Americans, who seemed to enjoy this attitude. As I remember, not one stood up and said my dad and I were there first.

It must be pointed out that before the Emancipation Proclamation, America had only ONE educational system. When I penned my first book, NCAA National Collegiate Affirmative Action, at a book signing I made the point, Why was there a need for a dual educational system? Logic will prove there was no need for a dual educational system, because there were only white Americans attending schools at the time. History will prove that many Americans are misinformed, uninformed and in the dark on
