About this ebook

These poems are about the ordinary man and the unusual. I have conversations in my poems. With the self, my darling, God and oftentimes, I am talking to you too. Love is my most favourite subject. This kind of love, as you can read in my poems, is a unique love. The poems in this book are laden and layered. They are not as simple as they seem, they have to be pondered on. I note in my poems beautiful experiences, but the smallest sad things too, those can be the loveliest. Sad things, we do not display, we keep it deep inside us, even these I want to share with you. People say that poems can heal a soul. My friends say that my poems contain healing words. In what way, better to read them yourself. Life is one exciting event, I assure you. I hope to write more. Wishing you many pleasant hours.

Sylvia Frances Chan

As Chief Editor Judy Lynn in INTERNATIONAL Who’s Who in Poetry (Los Angeles, California) says about Sylvia Frances Chan in her 2012 Edition: Sylvia Frances Chan was born Sylvia Frances Tjan in Jakarta, Indonesia. She comes from well-educated parents and has written short stories since she was fourteen years old. Her other talent is drawing and painting; she has done both since she was four years old. At the age of eleven, she won a drawing-competition, led by Amy Lyssen, a well-known Dutch author. Amy’s youth section is called “De JavaBode Jeugdkrant;” Sylvia published many drawings and cartoons in it. At the age of fifteen, she had her first group-exposition in the Balai Budaya, Jakarta. She was the youngest exposant. Sylvia is an all-round artist, and she creates each of her works of art punctually and with great pleasure. She has had many paintings, expositions and literary meetings. She has also several web blogs and websites, wherein she creates her own world, cards and quotations.
