PREFACE
This is an anthology of poems written over three generations within one family. The Hosannah’s all possess a love of poetry. This compilation is a snapshot of their machinations, their manifestations and their musings.
Dr. Hilton O. Hosannah, the patriarch, is a retired dentist for whom poetry was a past time. His artistic ability was expressed surreptitiously; Hilton sculpted teeth during the day, then at night he crafted poems. As a native sun of British Guyana, he was educated under the British system. He excelled academically as a youth, migrated to the US, where he attended Howard and Columbia Universities. Hilton has garnered numerous awards and numerous accolades relating to his chosen occupation.
His younger son, Vernon O. Hosannah was born during the turmoil of the Sixties. Vernon’s is also artistic and has sold paintings. Vernon has attempted to become as productive as his father by deviating from his father’s path to trail blaze careers as an educator, counselor and lawyer. He has earned professional degrees from Morehouse College, Baruch College and CUNY Law School.
