Foreword
We entered Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras almost fifty years ago in 1965 – bright eyed, somewhat bewildered boys at age sixteen. On the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations in 2015, Naughtical Tales is my offering.
It is comprised of reminiscences, vignettes of life on campus, and beyond, into experiences in the navy and the afterlife. Comic, inspirational, and profound situations make it an endearing and humorous but relevant read for the teenager, the grandparent, and all others in between.
So welcome aboard. Let’s journey together. Read what IIT and the navy did to me, after ‘A Small Incident’.
Cheers!

I wish to thank the IIT, the Navy, my friends and Authorhouse for helping me bring out this book, in good time.
Resemblance to any of the characters in the book is purely intentional.
Special thanks to my prodigious Navy colleague and artist, Admiral Ganesh Mahadevan, for giving the book a naughty ‘look’ with his sketches and cover design.
As we say in the Navy, ‘Come hell or high water’—we brought out the book!
To my loving parents and daughters,
Dipannita and Nilanjana
for the carefree life I have led.
