Mohammed Arqam Bazmy

Arqam Bazmy is an Indian poet and writer. He was born and brought up in Sambhal, a small town in Uttar Pradesh (India). He started composing poems during his early school days, at the age of 14. He is currently an undergraduate student at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (India). Arqam is also one of the youngest English poets in India. ‘’The Light of my Life’’ is a collection of his 50 beautiful poems based on love and life. You are my arrow if I am a bow,

I was useless without you a moment ago.

You are my ore and I am the boat you row,

I was inoperable without you a moment ago.

You are my guide as the right way you show,

I was lost without you a moment ago.

You are my support as I stand on your toe,

I was lonely without you a moment ago.

You are my inspiration when I feel low,

I was afraid without you a moment ago.

You are the sun and with your light like a moon I glow,

I was invisible without you a moment ago.

You are the river in which like a fish I flow,

I was homeless without you a moment ago.

You are the poet and I am your poem you know,

I was meaningless without you a moment ago.

You are the light of my life wherever I go,

I was blind without you a moment ago.

You were my Juliet I wish as I am the Romeo,

Of this story which I narrated a moment ago….

(2) If love is a waste of time

"If love is just a waste of time,

Then rubbish is my every rhyme,

Which I composed out of love for you my beloved,

Not just my heart towards you I shoved.

Neither I pulled your heart nor I pushed mine,

As love is a feeling so warm, as pleasant as sunshine.

Virtuous are those who love as true love dies never,

It blooms and blooms for ages and immortalizes the lovers forever.

If love is a waste of time then lucky I was to waste it,

As your beautiful memories I cherish when all alone I sit.

Every breath of mine is a prayer as I breathe in love,

Without love when I breathed, that breath was just a hove.

Fear not to love as love erases all fears,

As the prayer of a lover the God always hears.

A believer I am and surely I know,

Love I would reap if love I sow,

Forever our souls will shine and glow,

In the ocean of love if our boat we row……….

As I dived deep into the ocean of my memories,

I remembered the day I saw you first.

Today your absence has left a deep dark crease,
