Chapter 1
THE NEW PLACE
J USTIN NEWMAN IS A 14 years old boy who lives with his father. His mother died a few years ago when she got defeated from lung cancer after competing with the disease for more than 2 years of time.
Justin is the only child of his family and that is why he gets rewarded with a very kind and affectionate behaviour whenever any well known person to his family meets him. And moreover he is very lovable child to his father and his father never puts up any burden on to him. Justin never gets any hard feelings from anybody.
Charlie Newman is a government’s employ who works in the forest department. He has the job to deal with the maintenance of the environment of the forest lands which comes under his charge. And along with this he also has to control any criminal activity which involves the cutting of trees illegally for wood or destruction of forest by any sort of means.
There is another job which Charlie has to do which involves taking care of his son Justin Newman. And this is the major responsibility amongst all the responsibilities which he has to deal with because there is nobody else in his family who can take this responsibility.
Today is the present day and it appears like that both Justin and Charlie are living an impeccable life. Although there is news which has just arrived and it is noticeable enough to take the concentration of Charlie onto it.
The news is about the transfer of Charlie. Charlie has got his transfer to a new place.
After getting his transfer orders, Charlie gets busy in doing his packing for the new house. It doesn’t takes him long for packing his things as he has the work to pack his bags and to help Justin pack his things and the rest of the things like T.V, refrigerators and other household things will remain here as he lives in a house which is provided by the government so he will be getting all these things again on reaching to the new place.
Now the time of the departure has arrived. Both Charlie and Justin have got tears in their eyes and there are reasons behind their emotions. One of the reasons is the love and attachment of both of them with the place and the other reason is that it is the place where Justin’s mother took her last breath. It seems like leaving the place is hearting both of them so deeply and they do not want to leave the place. They are still standing outside the car and they are only watching towards the surroundings.
But then Charlie after understanding the situation and accepting it as the truth of life says to Justin to get in the car and along with Justin he also gets in the car. Then Charlie starts the car and leaves the place without any further delay. Maybe he just wants to go far from the place soon because his emotions are making him weak so he wants to control the situation by reacting quickly to it and may it has some other reasons but the fact is that both Charlie and Justin are now on their way to a new place and they have left their old place.
During the journey both Charlie and Justin remains calm and they hardly speak except for few talks which they share while filling up the gas at the gas station and they share few words with the lady at the counter of a restaurant for paying the bills of their meal which they do in the middle of their journey. It takes only few hours to them to reach the place where Charlie has got transferred to and they reach the place before dark.
The place they have reached and where they have to stay is a small village which is named as Forest Valley. The village is a very salubrious place to live in because there is no factory which is situated in or nearby the village and even there are only limited number of houses which make up the village so there are no signs of pollution in the surroundings. Although the village is far from the places which are highly populated but still it has a small city near to it which is not too far from the village and is situated at a distance of only 20 miles as per the reading of the milepost is concerned.
Charlie has got his place of living very near to the forest. It is a big house but is away from the rest of the houses of the village with only three houses in its vicinity. It is a calm place to stay but still it looks like that both Charlie and Justin has questions in their minds which nobody can answer to.

On reaching to the house they managed to keep all their things at their proper spots where ever they have to be kept and then they both went to take shower.
After some time they get the call of the dinner from Roy. Says Roy, sir please come to the table, the dinner is ready, please come and have it.
Roy is the butler. He is provided by the higher authorities to Charlie at this new place. He will be the one who will take care of every need of Charlie and that of Justin from now onwards.
In response says Charlie, ok Mr. Smith I am coming but I just need few seconds to put my documents at their place.
Charlie does all the cleaning up of his working place and goes to the dinner table to have the dinner.
When Charlie reaches the dinner table, Roy asks, sir if you don’t mind me asking I just want to confirm that how do you know about my last name as I haven’t told you about it until now and even I believe that we have not met before, so how do you come to know about it?
Replies Charlie, I am not a detective Mr. Smith, it is Sebastian who has told me about you while he was making me understand about the place and few other important things which he believes that I have to remember in order to deal with the life cycle of this place. And I heard him carefully because I do not want to face any complications while staying at this place in the beginning few days so that is how I came to know about your last name.
Sebastian is the same person who gave the keys to Charlie and explained about all the necessary steps to be followed at the place. He will be the co worker of Charlie in the office from now onwards.
Roy smiles after listening to Charlie and then goes away to the kitchen.
Then reaches Justin to the dinner table and both Charlie and Justin start the dinner together as like all the other days. After completing the dinner they both went away to sleep, maybe because they have travelled so many miles to reach the place and the journey has made them tired.
Charlie gets the sleep early but after being trying to sleep for two hours Justin is still awake. This is very first night of Justin at this new place and it looks like that being at new place is the reason that Justin is still awake after lying down on bed from last two hours or so, trying to search the sleep. There are so many things which are making revolutions in Justin’s head but he is still lying on his bed and is waiting for the call of sleep.
On the other side Charlie finds his way to sleep immediately after doing few of the calculations related to his office work. His documents are still cluttered on his bed and he did not have the chance to collect them all in order to keep them on the table before going to sleep. All of this is the result of the tiredness which he has got after travelling.
Soon Justin also finds his way to the path which goes to the castle of dreams. And immediately after falling asleep he starts murmuring as if he is having a dream. He continues to murmur for few more moments but then calms down. It seems like that maybe he has cleared all the obstacles and complicated issues of the nightmare which he was having and that is why he has become calm now.
The night passes away and the day starts appearing with the rays of sun touching the ground and making the fields look warm and glorious.
The very first night at new place is over. It is just a beginning at this new place for Charlie and Justin. They cannot judge many things about this new place that how good or helpful the people or surroundings will be for both of them in the coming days but one thing is sure and that is that the new place where they have to spend all their days until the time they get another transfer letter of Charlie or maybe until the time when Charlie gets retired up from his job is a noiseless and pollution free place. With many trees surrounding the place make it even a better place to live the life. And after reaching under the shadow of this beautiful place which reveals only the true beauty of the nature as it’s most valuable feature, both Charlie and Justin look satisfied.

It has been only half an hour to the time when Charlie left but Justin is already out of his bed. It feels like as Charlie has told him that his admission will not be possible by today so he wants to enjoy the day by being free and by doing the things which he wants to do.

While beginning his journey Justin is going towards the village to find out if there are any interesting places which he can visit time after time in the future.
After walking up to the middle of the village Justin finds a small store which has many kinds of articles filled inside it. On making the inside of the store Justin finds comic books, sports articles, apple pies and chocolate bars, which are in his favorite list are all available in the store. He fills up with delight after finding all these things in the store. He moves around in the inside of the store and chooses few chocolate bars from all those plenty of chocolate bars which are lying on the shelf, two apple pies and his favorite comic book. He also selects a baseball bat for himself as baseball is his favorite game and the only game he plays. Then Justin takes all the things and comes back to his house after paying the amount of those articles to the store keeper.
After coming to the house still Justin is eager enough to see the other places around. Especially the view of the forest through the open window of the living room is attracting him to watch the beauty of it.
