About this ebook

This book is about the love of God. Deep within the chambers of every human heart, God placed an emptiness, a brokenness, a hunger and a thirst for Himthe living God. The goal of this book is to awaken that yearning cry in your soul and take you on a journey with the author, seeking God in His Word to find this lovethe love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19, NKJV). His presence shows up on this journey in answer to your cry, as He sings over you His song in the night and shows you great and mighty things which you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3, NKJV). But now you will know, for you will be kissed by God.

The Kiss That Rocked the World - Rena Goichberg

    CHAPTER 1

    First Kiss

We love Him, because He first loved us.

    –1 John 4:19

    KISS OF LIFE

Our life is ignited by a kiss. Without the love of God, there would be no life on this earth. Formed of the dust of the ground, we would be lying there, lifeless, if God had not breathed the breath of life into us.

But He loved us, wanted us, and needed us, so He breathed His very life into us–like a kiss to awaken His sleeping bride. Oh! Passionate breath of the spirit of life by which we breathe, we love, we live–we rise! (Genesis 2:7)

Now we return this kiss to Him, as we bow down in worship at His feet; and we become one with Him, for the circle of love is now complete.

One with the one who gave His one and only Son–born the Lamb to take away our sin, to die for us and shed His precious blood, so we could be accepted in His love; embraced forever, and kissed for all eternity, in complete, divine unity with the one whom our soul loves–intimately, infinitely, passionately…

    Jesus, the living Word!

Your name is fragrance poured out.

    Jesus. The loving Word!

Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth…

    (Song of Songs 1: 3, 2)

    THE KISS

The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s. (v. 1)

"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth:

for thy love is better than wine." (v. 2)

These are the first two verses of the Song of Songs, also known as The Song of Solomon. It’s a love song, on many levels. The song above all other songs, it’s God’s highest song. His favorite. Because it sings of that greatest and highest love–God’s love for us.

One day I noticed something in these two opening verses of the Song of Songs that I had never seen before: Verse 1 is not really a verse–it’s the title, isn’t it? Title and author. Now if that’s the title, it leaves only one option for the first verse, the bride’s prayer: Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth… Maybe the translators thought this was too shocking and brazen a statement for the opening verse of the Song. Of any song really. Can you imagine a song that begins like this? Normally you would kind of ease into it more gradually, wouldn’t
