About this ebook

The book covers my search for Gods Word. It follows the sequence of the Bible and tries to show the sins of the Israelites in comparison to sins of today. I have used many of the salient points of the Bible to try to accomplish this. In addition, as an appendix, I address six important topics of our time. Finally, my purpose is to win people over into developing a relationship with God, and it has made me a better person.

    A couple of closing remarks

I DEDICATE THIS BOOK TO MY PARENTS. I AM TOTALLY BLESSED FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THAT THEY GAVE ME AND FOR NOT ENABLING ME. MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE AND THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP OTHERS. MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO WORK FOR WHAT YOU WANT AND NOT TO DEPEND ON OTHERS. MY TOTAL LOVE GOES OUT TO THEM AND I AM SORRY THAT MY GRANDCHILDREN DID NOT GET TO MEET THEM. GOD BLESS THEM.

    INTRODUCTION

I would like to take you on a journey with me through a book that I started reading in 2007. I read it again in order to fully understand. However, I believe that this book could not be totally understood, if it was read many times. I chose the Bible titled The Way – The Living Bible because it is much easier to understand and closely resemble The King James Bible. I started to read the Bible at the age of seventy-one. The years before I guess that I was chasing the wind, so to speak, like so many of us.

I was a member of a particular denomination for the first seventy-one years of my life. In 2007, the national convention adopted a change, which violated what I thought was the teachings of God. I gave a lot of thought to what I should do, and after three months, I decided to try another church, even though I was still not sure I was doing what God would want. During one of the sermons, at the new church, the minister discussed a passage from the book of Jeremiah, which stated that God had a plan for me that was not to harm me but was for my welfare. I may have heard this before, but I was now searching for the truth. In others sermons, the minister mentioned other passages that touched me very deeply. I thought that there must be more that I did not know about the Bible, so I decided to find out for myself. I have been astounded at what I have discovered.

I decided to write down my journey in order to more fully understand what I had read. In addition, I hoped that it would help someone that had not read the Bible in coming to God. As we all know - or must understand - is that we are all sinners. St. Paul stated it very clearly when he said I know what I should do but I don’t do it and I know what I shouldn’t do but I do it. I chose the title God is to Good as a result of reading in the Bible about the many evil short-coming of man. Their continued drawing away from God after all that God had given them. In addition, all you have to do is follow history and you will see the evil of mankind; e.g. the Roman Emperors, Hitler, our government passing laws that violate God’s law. There is no question in my mind that God is to Good. God is full of Grace and Mercy.

I will make some statements in the book, but believe me I don’t want you to think I believe myself high and mighty, nor that I am trying to judge anyone. That is solely God’s job. I believe that I am a meek person. So let’s begin the journey by starting at the beginning.

    CHARTER 1

    OLD TESTAMENT

Everything that I know has a beginning and an end -- with the exception of one thing which I will discuss later in the book; therefore, the world must also have a beginning. There are a number of people that believe there was an explosion of what I don’t know, because whatever exploded also had to have a beginning. You as a mortal cannot take nothing and make something but God can. He is the Alpha and the Omega – the beginning and the end. Zero plus zero equals zero. A very smart scientist might have an explanation to prove me wrong, but his explanation would have a fog-index that no one
