    DEDICATION

In memory of people who lost their lives while trying to immigrate under the cover of darkness in freezing water.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

M any thanks to my publishing company Partridge Africa for the professionalism.

I am indebted to the entire team for their work on behalf of this book.

As always, I am grateful for my parents' support and patience with me.

    PREFACE

What are you gonna do here? There was hatred in Fouzia's eyes when she said this to Saadia.

I am going to improve my situation, replied Saadia with a soft voice similar to that heard over the intercom in an airport.

People want to improve themselves, Fouzia was seized with a bad case of giggles.

However, Saadia was cool-blooded and ignored her.

Next to Saadia, a child of one of the passengers was constantly crying, out loud, I'm hungry.

The mother, Tazia, was trying to comfort her
