It was always an ambition to write a book. And when Take Me Home was published, it was a dream come true. And although she thought it would be a one-off, the follow-up was already being written, and the story continues.

CHAPTER 1
Jamie had just finished soccer training. She got on her bike and rode home, she saw Joan in her car she pulled over. Hey Jamie!
said Joan. How are you, glad to be back at school?
Yeah
Jamie replied. She had never liked school, but that had all changed when she moved to Scholfield. For the first time in her life she had something to look forward to.
Jamie was so happy, she was officially a Scholfield, and Mary, she loved her so much, she loved just spending time with her.
Jamie walked into her house, Mom
she called, but Mary was nowhere to be seen. She walked through the kitchen, out the back and saw Mary on the swing.
Jamie giggled and ran to Mary and climbed on top of her. Push
she said.
Mary smiled as she pushed the swing.
Faster!
said Jamie.
Mary went as high as she could and then let the swing come to a stop. Hey come on or your dinner will be burnt
Mom?
said Jamie. Yes?
Mary put her head to Jamie’s, looking into her big blue eyes.
Jamie looked at her smiling. Can I get a job in your store?
What? Why do you need a job?
asked Mary.
I want to get some money for Christmas presents
Jamie replied.
Babe you don’t have to do that, I can give you money
Mary said.
But I want to earn it. Can I?
But when are you going to find the time?
asked Mary.
It’s only a couple of days, can I?
she asked again.
I will think about it, o.k.
Mary said.
At dinner Jamie brought it up again.
Mary realised she was serious.
I am a Scholfield aren’t I? Isn’t it like tradition? Didn’t you work there when you were my age?
Jamie pleaded.
Mary smiled at her Do you really want to do this?
Yes
said Jamie.
Let me talk to Lucy o.k.?
said Mary.
Jamie had the biggest grin on her face.
On Monday after school Jamie had training. Mary went to see Lucy. She walked into the store and spotting Lucy she said Hey Lucy have you got time for a coffee?
Sure
Lucy replied.
They went over the road, the drinks arrived. Thanks Mary said Hey listen, Jamie wants me to give her a job in the store
Oh that’s fine
Lucy replied.
Look, the thing is, I don’t know if or when the novelty will wear off so I am going to put the money in her account but she will think you are paying her, o.k.?
Mary said.
Sure
replied Lucy When do you want her to start?
well I think she wants start straight away,
She will only be able to do a couple of shifts. If you can fit her in on Fridays or Saturdays. But not the afternoon, that’s my time, is that o.k.?
Mary said.
Mary, it’s your store you can do want you want
said Lucy.
I know but it’s you, Lucy who has kept it going
said Mary.
Lucy smiled. It has been a pleasure. It will be nice to see a Scholfield working in there again.
Thank you
Mary smiled.
After dinner that evening, they were on the couch watching T.V.
Jamie was lying down with her head on Marys lap.
Mary was stroking her hair. I spoke to Lucy today
Jamie looked up at her, her eyes wide open.
And
Mary smiled at her. You can start on Friday!
Jamie sat up and hugged her. Thank you
she said. She was so happy.
But there was going to be one person who wouldn’t be happy. Andrew. She went out with him on Fridays. Andrew, being older than her and at work, and her still being at school, to him their relationship was not moving forward.
He wanted more from her. But for now he said nothing.
Jamie had been working in the store a few weeks now. Mary was surprised, she thought the novelty would have worn off but it wasn’t the case.
It was Saturday morning. Jamie walked into Mary’s room. She sat on her bed and woke her. Hey Mom
Mary opened her eyes. Hello you
she said.
I made you a coffee I am going to work
said Jamie.
Mary kissed her. Thank you. I’ll pick you up at two
O.k. bye Mom
By the afternoon Mary had got ready to pick up Jamie. They were going to the movies. When Mary got to the store she saw Lucy. Is Jamie ready?
she asked.
Hey Lou!
Lucy said to her daughter Louise. Tell Jamie her Moms here
So how is she doing?
Mary asked her.
Lucy was smiling. She is a natural. She is doing really well, she works so hard. You should be so proud of her
Mary smiled.
Hey Mom, are you ready to go?
said Jamie.
Yeah
Mary grabbed her hand.
Come on then, there is a hotdog with my name on it
said Mary. See you Lucy
See you Friday Jamie
said Lucy. A few days later at home Jamie was looking at the calendar on the fridge. Mary was standing behind her. What are you looking at?
she asks.
How many weeks there are to Christmas
Jamie said.
Mary laughed putting her arms around her. We have Halloween and thanksgiving before Christmas
Is Stephanie coming home for thanksgiving?
said Jamie.
No she will spend it with Robert’s parents. Anyway this is not just thanksgiving, its Scholfield day,
We will have a street party in town this year" replied Mary.
Wow, I can’t wait
cried Jamie.
A few weeks later they were out in town getting their outfits for Halloween.
And by Saturday Mary was putting green face paint on Jamie’s face, they were both witches. She had just stuck on her nose. There, take a look
she said to Jamie.
Jamie looked in the mirror, Wow!
You like it, yeah?
Mary finished getting herself ready, Get the camera Jamie, we can take a selfie
They went to the party, which was in the town hall. When they got inside Andrew saw Jamie and dragged her over to the others. Hey Jamie
Alex said This is my cousin Raymond from England he is now living with us
Andrew saw Raymond checking Jamie out, he grabbed her hand. Let’s get a drink
he said. When they got back Raymond was telling jokes, and everybody was laughing.
Andrew’s sister Jessie liked the look of Raymond, but he had other ideas. He asked Jamie to dance.
Andrew grabbed Jamie’s hand. She is taken mate
he said and dragged her off.
Raymond stood on the side watching them. Jessie stood next to him. Do you want to dance?
she asked him. He looked at her. Why not?
he replied.
They started dancing right next to Jamie. Raymond bumped into her, and she turned round.
Andrew pushed him. Listen mate back off!
What?
Raymond said all innocent.
Andrew was staring at him. Jamie got in the middle of them.
Andrew what do you think you are doing?
Mary had seen them and she came over. Whats going on here?
she asked.
Nothing
Andrew said.
Good, are you o.k. Jamie?
She’s fine
Andrew spoke for her.
Good then why don’t you just enjoy yourselves
said Mary.
Jessie pulled Raymond away, Look
Jessie said, that’s my brother and Jamie is his girlfriend, so if you like her, you have no chance"
What?
he said "I only bumped into them,
