About this ebook
My turn came, and I was in front of it. The first thing I said to it was God! And to this it replied, Yes, son. I was so surprised, frightened, and nervous. I wasnt able to understand the reason for which I called it a god. May be it was some automated command fed into all of us.
Then this god showed me a golden gate just behind it. It was this huge gate, with beautiful carved images on it as if it was telling a story about someone or something. God bent down to its knees and started telling me, or I should say, started giving me a series of instructions.
Samir Samuel David
Samir Samuel David is a believer of freedom of expression. Everything that exists must be relished and cherished. He believes that one must take and live one’s own experience rather than living the experiences of others. He is an engineer and an MBA and is presently working with a manufacturing company. He has this inclination toward writing from his school days. He wrote the first poem while he was in the fifth grade class. The poem was about his grandfather. What he believes is that life is all about experimenting and giving a try to the dreams one wishes to live. In the absence of stubbornness, most of us give up on what we truly wish to do. One has to keep trying and keep delivering, without worrying about the opinions of others.

A Book of Brainless Thought is a dedication to my father, Dr S. K. David, who has been a source of inspiration and a synonym of the word man for me. He was a man of honesty, truth, strength, and integrity. He was the one who nurtured in me the seeds of tolerance for others. While the world is fighting over religions, colours of skin, languages, and territories, it was him and his liberal values which made me tolerant towards the freedom of existence of everyone on equal grounds. He never made me cram the chapters of the Bible, but he actually lived the Bible.
An encyclopaedia of almost all the topics of this world he was. I wish he could’ve stayed with me for years to come, but he lived his bit with respect, earned fans, and remained an icon to the people he shared himself with. I love no one more than him, but I missed the chances to let him know what he was to me.
I also dedicate the book to my mother, Mrs Shuri David, and my sister, Shruti David, who’ve always stood by my side like pillars and kept my spirits high even in the toughest of times. They’ve given a lot to keep things going on the right track, sacrificed a lot, and lived with an elegance and substance of a true woman. They are my family and everything. Together we have faced and went through many ups and downs in life. I share my happiness and my life with them—if not everything, then the most of it. They both are artists; they made our house a home that catches the attention of everyone who visits our place.
I would like to thank some of my friends for believing in me and motivating me all through the different phases of my life. Tushar Banveer—the silent gentleman is what I call him. He speaks pretty less, works hard, and has always been there during the days while I was looking for a hand of help. He always stood strong by my side, played his role till he was needed, and then silently moved away. This trait of his makes him special to me. Even my thanks to him went silent as there was nothing I could have done to pay him back for the role he played in my life.
I would like to thank Sri Harsha Bandaluppi and Sheetal Kaur Bawa, who are the ones with whom I could share anything in this world, be it a good or a bad day; they are the ones who make my dead cells revive again. A good laugh with them redefines me; with them, I feel alive.
I would like to thank the owner of my company from where I earn my bread and butter, Mr Puneet Talesara. While corporations are practical and to the point, his concern for his men is what I too have witnessed during my tough days. It’s tough to find a hand of help in tough times, but he extended his hand of help in the darkest days of my life. It counts.
Happiness is a difficult subject. Whosoever extends it to me or has extended it to me in the past, I thank them all and wish them the best in their lives.

This story begins with the events that took place in my life before my birth. I was at some strange and mysterious yet beautifully magical place. It was a vast green field surrounded with trees, with hazy clouds of different shapes, sizes, and heights everywhere. Clouds were pretty low, like almost touching the green grass of the field. All the clouds were a part of this endless queue, where I too was standing as if waiting for my turn to get a ticket to some movie or to order some burger or a pizza at McDonald’s. It was silence all around with no clues of any sound. It was strange. The queue was moving ahead as if the one who got the ticket moved into the theatre to watch the movie.
The queue was getting shorter, and I too was getting closer to something. It was a big cloud, a hazy one. Everyone was calling this cloud by its name as they were
