About this ebook

Unanswered Questions is a romantic fiction that depicts the modern-day scenario of love stories. The present generation just rush into relationships with a motto to get committed. After a certain time, they regret being into the wrong relationship. Relationships have become the trial rooms. We tend to fall in and out of love too fast that we just dont feel love anymore.

Unanswered Questions highlights one such story. Swastik, Karuna and Saanjh are the main characters of the story. Friends, best friends, and lovers were three different terms earlier. Today there is very thin line among these three. People hop according to their choices and needs. Well, this is a matter of choice but today we are missing out on experiencing the purest feeling.

Love is much more than just I love you. Moving on is okay but when you really fall for the one you would not be able to move on, no matter how hard you try.

Love needs to be felt but the people are trying to impose and cage love. Find the answers within yourself. With Unanswered Questions, you will know that true love never fades away and the forced relationship can never stay the same.

    About the Author

    PEEK-A-BOO

Love: a word used by everyone every now and then; a word that has myriad definitions; a word seen by people through many perspectives; a word that is more than just a word; a word that has its home in everybody’s heart. In this story you are about to begin love would be given another edge. But that doesn’t mean I disrespect anyone’s beliefs or faith. There will be times where you will relate yourself to the story for the fact that this is an inspired story.

There are endless definitions of love which have come across till date. Some say love is life but forget that life is too big a term that engulfs many other terms too; for some love is blind forgetting about the love at first sight; some refers love as a waste of time which makes the love for the parents and your dear ones waste as well. People who get hurt in relationships merely put up ‘Love hurts’ while it’s actually the break up that hurts. I don’t see any point in defining love. For me this word itself is so intense that you don’t need any definition for it. One should not limit its eternal meaning by defining it in a set of few words. Let love be called love with love.

In today’s generation people search for partners and not for love. They are so obsessed to have relationships that they prefer not to listen to their hearts. ‘I love you’ these three words are used so commonly that its actual meaning is now lost. Saying the three words only now don’t mean love always. I would name our generation as the MOVE ON GENERATION as this is what we do whenever a relationship fails. Is it easy to move on? Is it so easy to forget someone you had shared a bond with?

I have come across many unsuccessful love marriages because of the love being misunderstood. Why do we want everything as quick as the two minutes noodles? Probably they also take longer than two minutes. We go on searching for a mate and not love. And when the love actually knocks our door we don’t even pay heed to it as we are busy in making love to the searched mate. Many of us face the story of an unsuccessful relationship and the reason is already explained above. Ya..I know many of you won’t agree with me but I bet if you go in search of love you’ll definitely face this someday but as they say and my so do my friends:

    Exceptions are always there;

    Exceptions aren’t that common

I would now take you on a ride of love full of bumps, jerks…oh yes it is smooth too somewhere! But guys if you get the motive behind this book, I would know that I nailed it then. Your thoughts would clash with mine in this ride many a times but please don’t open your seat belts. You are about to experience one of its kind love stories. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. Love redefined here…

    Whoooooooaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

This book is a result of my crucial time when I was too lost that I was struggling to find hope in my life. I always wanted to be a writer but I could not take an initiative. Then one day while I was too lost, I took a diary and started writing the story of UNANSWERED QUESTIONS. So first and foremost I would like to thank all those people who made me feel so pathetic and hopeless that I found my hope in my passion.

A lot of people were there in the beginning of this journey but very few kept it till the end. Nevertheless, I would like to thank all of you who supported me in this. First of all I would thank the first reader of my first novel. So, Suneha aka Su, I thank you for reading my work and giving me the green signal. Although you got to read this in the oddest situation but that helped me.

I don’t remember the order of the next ones who read it so I am thanking you all in random order. Rashu, Sakshi, Tanzene, Onam, Yudhveer, Harmeet, Sanchita, Liza; thank you guys for giving me the honest reviews about the novel. You are the first readers of my first novel and your reviews will always be special to me.

Thank you Gurleen, Jazz Kiran, Nikita, Karan, Preeti, Sparsh, Puneet, Arun, Jappan, Luvish and Antar for being there in the journey of my dream which just got true.

Thank you Meenakshi ma’am and Ashish sir, you both rock. Special thanks to my overseas friend Aimane Idhajji who has always supported me in my writing.

I would not even survive a second without you Mumma and Papa. Thank you for believing in me and also accepting my all-time changing ideas.. You are the heroes of my life who have always had my back in adverse of the adverse situations. I want to thank you Kartik, my lifeline. I know you make fun of my writings but deep inside you want me to be a successful writer. And thank you for supporting my mental level with yours.

I would like to thank Microsoft for letting me type the soft copy of my novel and also rectifying my grammar.

As an entity of Hare Krishna, I would submit my work to Lord Krishna for his never-ending blessings. He is the sole reason for my strong belief in love and passion in living life.

Thank you Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Hardwell, Tiesto and Dimitri for keeping my energy graph maintained all through.

I would like to thank you dear reader because you have chosen to read me.

Sorry if I missed anyone, forgive me because it’s my first time.

    Loads of Love

Weekends seem to be the second most alluring thing after girls. After the hectic weekdays of work, all one wants is to lie on the bed and sleep open-mouthed. And when you have your girl loving you in your bed it’s just like icing on the cake. And this weekend is going to be a cake full of icing as my love, my baby; my Kanu is coming to see me. Kanu as in Karuna Mittal from my hometown Chandigarh is visiting Delhi where I had been since last four months for my training. It has been so long that we had seen each other but finally tonight she would be in my arms and for the next two days.

We have been together since our school days. I still remember how I used to stalk the most beautiful girl to her home. It was a routine for me then. I never managed to talk to her but I admired her from distance. I still remember the first face to face encounter with her. It was our annual function when some of the boys were teasing her and I just couldn’t handle it. I went to Karuna, held her hand, took her to the main gate and asked her to leave. Her eyes had a number of questions but that wasn’t important at that time. I went back to the boys and punched the one who was at front. All of this drama landed me into the principal’s office next morning. I didn’t go to school for the following week as that was my punishment of punching an eve teaser in the school. After that one week when I went to the school everything seemed weird and unfriendly. Nobody was talking to me in the class. Everyone was looking at me like I was the culprit. The only person who talked to me was Karuna’s friend who came to me to inform about Karuna. She told me about Karuna’s anxious behavior and that she was disturbed because of me. I decided to face her one more time, so I went to talk to her. She was sitting in the computer lab and I went inside to have a word with her. I inhaled sufficient amount of oxygen to ensure that I don’t faint in front of her or make fool of myself as I did earlier. I took a chair beside her and said hello. She didn’t respond at all. She was so busy staring at her extra ordinarily shining shoes. I again inhaled a portion of oxygen to fill my lungs and said,

I am really sorry whatever happened that day. But I didn’t want you to see all that so I told you to leave before anything worsened. You don’t need to worry about anything. They won’t ever make a mistake of even crossing your way.

She was still staring at her shoes. So I finally concluded by saying,

Plus I want to say that I am always here whenever you need any help. Even if you don’t want to talk to me it’s okay. Thank you so much for listening. Bye

I stood up and decided to leave the computer lab. I was happy that I didn’t faint but I was sad because she didn’t reply.

I was just about to leave the lab and then a very cute voice fell on my ears Swastik.

Oh yes that’s me, Swastik Malhotra. I have a cool name, yeah. And when the beauty calls your name it seems a victory in itself just like Karuna called me.

    I looked back and said

    Yes Karuna.

She very cutely asked me Are you okay?

I almost had shrills in my whole body and the felt deoxygenated and replied Who…? Me…? Yeah…. I am fine…I am cool.

She smiled and said Thank You so much for that day

Before I could reply she held her hand out and asked Can we be friends?

(Oh c’mon who won’t be friends with you?)

With all those laddoos popping in my head I replied in affirmation and shook hands with her. After a few seconds she said Swastik… My hand and pointed towards her hand that I had been holding for quite a long time. She would have thought of me as a despo but I couldn’t help it. She gave me her mobile number and asked me to ping her. I couldn’t control my smile that day. Even my cheeks got hurt because of the extra large smile I was wearing the whole day. She finally talked to me. The girl I had been dying to talk since last one year talked to me. My happiness knew no limits that day. I went home and kept thinking about her the whole time. I finally texted her with a ‘HEY’ at night. We began chatting thereafter and became the bestest of buddies in a couple of days. I was a senior to her in school so we only met in the recess where we ate our lunch together.

On one of the random days I heard one of her classmates talking filthy about her figure. I went to him, held him from his collar and warned him not to utter a single word against her. And there came the typical question every guy has to face every now and then,

Teri kya lagti hai? (Who is she for you?)

I replied, Everything dude. You better not do that again. I left his collar and dusted his shirt off. He didn’t speak and I left.

The same evening I called up Karuna and before saying hello or something I asked her,

What should I say, when anyone asks me who you are for me?

She simply replied, Say that I am your girlfriend.

I couldn’t believe my ears which is why I asked her, What…? Come again.

She replied this time in an utterly adorable voice, Swastik Malhotra I Karuna Mittal, accept you as my lawfully unwedded boyfriend which eventually proves that I am your girlfriend. Do I need to say it again?

I was in love and that made me fly in the air. I asked her to keep saying it.

All of a sudden she said, Swastik in a heart melting voice.

Yes Kanu, I replied coming back to my senses.

Do I need to say the rest too, she just screamed out of the phone and my ear hurt.

    What rest? I asked mischievously.

    Beep! Beep! Beep!

Oh don’t you worry that wasn’t the abuse but she disconnected
