    Prologue

The year is 2000. Starting off the new year finishing up my vacation in Ixtapa, Mexico, was a great way to start off the year. Relaxing, getting some sun, and hanging out with my family. It was also the y2k bug, which we all survived just fine. Had my vacation been extended by a day or two, due to the crazy prediction of widespread havoc with computer programming, that would have been fine by me, but none of that happened. I flew back into LAX on my scheduled flight all without a hitch.

New year, new century, comes with new hopes and dreams some new goals that I thought of, and, of course, that same goal to lose the same fifteen pounds I wanted to lose last year. I thought maybe this would be the year I would finally meet someone. It had been a while since I had met someone that I really wanted to get to know and spend time with. I wanted the long-term relationship again, I wanted to meet the man I would marry and thought maybe we would start a family together.

But even with the best intentions, the best plans, things don’t always turn out the way you want them to.

I spent yet another weekend searching for a new place to move to. I was looking for a good location, a place that is comfortable, and one I would like to come
