I dedicate this book to my brother Derrick Bruce and my mother Theresa Wright.

    AUTHOR’S NOTE

Although I wrote every word in these stories, I’ve always been a slow typist (one finger). My brother Derrick typed it all. My mother helped with paragraph arrangement. So, I owe it all to my brother Derrick for typing and my mother for help with paragraph placing.

    Chapter One A

    The Battle

The Witch opened her mouth and was about to exhale fire when Jimmy made fifty bitter lemons go inside! She swallowed the lemons and gave a very sour face expression. She coughed a few times and said, You’re dead!!! to Jimmy. That’s funny, he said. My favorite song is ‘Ding Dong the Witch is Dead’! Then he began to laugh. With intense hate in her eyes, she lifted her left index finger and a bolt of lightning came out, missing Jimmy by an inch.

He used laser vision to melt her finger! Oh my, ouch! she shrieked.

What’s going on? Why the heck is Jimmy Jumpferjoy fighting a wicked witch? Well, it all began in Jilly Applejelly’s world when they were out for a walk. The fresh air was sweet with the aroma of fresh caramel in the Candy Coat Mountain Range. They were hiking past several busy gnomes who were building a sturdy bridge over the beautiful Saccharinea River. Jimmy spoke first, Hey Jilly, you never told me the name of your genie.

Well, said Jilly. I really can’t tell you her name ‘cause I never asked her! What’s the name of your genie? Um, said Jimmy, you know, I never asked him either. I’ve just been calling him genie! When I get home, I’ll ask him. You make sure you ask your genie too!" he said.

O.K.! said Jilly. By the way, does your genie still become evil on a full moon? she asked. Well yes, he does, said Jimmy. I simply avoid the full moon. How about a more permanent solution? said Jilly. How? asked Jimmy. Well, you could go see the Wonderful Wise Wizards. They could tell us where that awful witch is who put a curse on your genie and how to defeat her! Sounds scary! said Jimmy.

Let’s go right now! said Jilly excitedly and she began to break into a run; and so Jimmy followed. They ran and walked all the way to the castle where the Wise Wizards lived. They told Jimmy that the evil witch who had put a curse on his genie, lived inside of a large cave high on a mountain top of a place called Morbid Mountain. To defeat her he would have to carefully get some Scarlet Fingoes (energy stealing bugs), throw them at her, and then toss Fluidica’s magic dust at her.

But first he must tire her out before he finishes her off. So, battle her first? he asked. That’s correct! said the Wise Wizard, who wore a cone shaped hat that resembled a cowboy hat with stars all up and down it.

Jilly’s world began to vanish as Jimmy began to wake up. It was 7:30AM, Saturday morning in his world. At around 8:00AM the phone rang, and his mother yelled out to him. Jimmy! Telephone! Jimmy came out of his room and grabbed the phone. Hello? he asked. Hi Jim, it’s me Fran! Oh, Fran, how are you? he asked. Some images appeared in my crystal ball about how you’ll be having a conflict with someone, she said, just trying to give you a heads up! Thanks, said Jimmy.

Here’s how you’re going to prepare for the battle, she said, take a very deep breath, let it out. Then suck the air in; go one, two, three, four; then hold your breath to the count of twelve. Then exhale. Go one, two, three four, five, six, seven eight. Visualize the person who you will do battle with and see their defeat! Remember, do this breathing exercise before you do battle, O.K.? she said.

O.K.! he said. She said Good-bye! and then hung up the phone. Jimmy ate breakfast, watched some cartoons; then went to his room to summon his genie. What is your wish, oh mighty master? asked the genie in a small whisper. Well…it’s more of a question… said Jimmy, do you have a name? he asked. The genie rolled back his large green head and laughed quietly, Yes master, I do have a name. My name is Azam. Cool, said Jimmy. I can’t wait to tell Jilly.

Have you any more questions or wishes? asked the powerful genie. Well, you don’t know this, but I’m going to do battle with the witch who put a curse on you, so I’ll definitely need to borrow your powers! Very good, wish granted. said the happy genie and pointed his enormous finger at Jimmy, but be careful master, she’s a tricky one!

Don’t worry about me, said Jimmy, I have a plan! With that the genie vanished back into the crystal ball. The rest of Jimmy’s day was pretty normal. He played with Joey at the park and around twelve noon, he came home and took a nap. He met up with Jilly Applejelly in front of her Victorian house, with her friend Fluidica Dewdrop. So, let’s do this! said Jimmy. Let’s! said Jilly.

By the way Jilly, said Jimmy, what’s your genie’s name? She said it’s Taslima! answered Jilly, what’s yours? Mine’s Azam! said Jimmy, but I don’t think they’ll mind if we keep calling them genie. How can I help? asked Fluidica seriously. Well, said Jimmy, come here! he said, and whispered into her pointed ear.

Jimmy faded from Jilly’s world back to his own. He magically sent a small vacuum cleaner to the Valley of the Deamons, and it sucked up the Scarlet Fingoes. In the meantime, Jimmy created a special glass jar which would not allow the bugs to drain his powers. When the vacuum cleaner returned, Jimmy quickly took the vacuum cleaner and emptied the bugs into the clear jar. He did the breathing exercises; grabbed his superhero costume and put magic berries in the utility belt. He then took out his magic carpet and Telescope of Wonder. Show me where the witch is! said Jimmy.

In the Telescope of Wonder, he saw a purple-colored woman with a tall black pointed wide brimmed hat and a light purple thick ribbon just above the rim. She was wearing a copper top with flaring sleeves. She wore a long black vest which went from her shoulders down to her thighs, the short dress she wore was also copper. She wore light brown tights under her skirt with black horizontal pattern stripes from her thighs to her black high heel shoes.

Her skin was shiny, like plastic. She wasn’t ugly, but he knew she was very evil. Her hair was long, shiny and black. She was moving around inside of a dimly lit cave. I want to be invisible, he said to himself, and became transparent. He opened a window in his room, sat down on his carpet, then said, Go carpet, go to the evil witch who lives high on top of Morbid Mountain in a cave!

Quick as a whip, he flew out of his room to do battle with the purple witch. No sooner had he left than his mother came knocking on his door. Jimmy, do you think you could mop the kitchen floor today? …Jimmy? she asked again. She opened his bedroom door, but he was already gone. Where did he go? she asked herself, I thought he was in his room! But Jimmy was miles away from home flying high in the air. His Telescope of Wonder and the magic carpet were invisible; he had a firm smile as the carpet carried him swiftly on his way to a very tall mountain.

It was a warm, dry day with large puffy clouds floating low to the top of the mountain. Jimmy felt a little nervous as he stepped off of the carpet. He created an invisible box; put the magic carpet, Telescope of Wonder and jar with the energy draining bugs inside. He then went to take a look in the cave. He saw a small fire in the middle of the cave, a place to eat and sleep, but he didn’t see the witch. Suddenly he heard laughter coming from outside behind him. He turned around quickly and spotted the witch flying towards him on her broom.

You’re the one who put a curse on my genie! he yelled out loud. Show yourself! she said loudly. Make me! he yelled. The whites of her eyes glowed a bright hot white and she cast a spell, Vaskidarian Miso, make it so that I can see the person from whom the voice is coming from! Her fingernails grew longer and sharper while large sparks of magic flew out in Jimmy’s direction. As her spell took effect, Jimmy slowly appeared.

There he was, a little boy in a superhero costume, ready to do battle with a powerful adult witch; one who could go head to head with a powerful genie. Well honey, your genie will turn evil every time there is a full moon and there’s nothing you can do about it! she laughed. I’ll stop you!" said Jimmy angrily.

What are you going to do? Reverse the curse? Because I’m already wicked, she laughed. She quickly put her hands together and produced ball lightning. Let’s play dodge ball lightning, she said and tossed it at Jimmy. He ducked, she missed, but when he stood up again he was struck in his chest, his force field stopped the energy from doing any damage, but it pushed him outside of the cave. He lost his footing near the edge and he fell off of the high cliff.

It didn’t matter because he flew back up as quick as he could. As he flew toward her she changed him into a monkey which was still wearing the superhero costume. He quickly changed himself back, much to the shock of the evil witch. What! she screamed loudly. With enormous energy and large sparks of magic, she held out her hands and targeted a small bird passing by. Reptilias Dragous! she screamed as she cast her spell. The bird became a very large scaly flying dragon. It swooped down and swallowed Jimmy whole. Thinking fast, he flew with all his might, his fist leading the way, crashing through the pointy teeth of the large vicious dragon!

You’re a skunk! he said. The purple witch became a purplish skunk with a white stripe down her back. She sprayed at him, but he flew out of the way faster than she could have imagined. She turned herself back into witch and delivered twenty rounds of ball lightning at super hero Jimmy Jay. Even though the force field protected him, he was still shaken up! What’s the matter? Scared little boy?!! she cackled.

Water balloons! he screamed. Out of nowhere came twenty water balloons, splattering one after another off of the witch’s head; even knocking off her tall black hat. Her hair was soaking wet. Boy, was she angry! She twirled her finger in a circle. Suddenly Jimmy felt himself spinning like a top. He took the energy and turned himself into a tornado; spinning faster and faster until dust, dirt and pebbles were sucked up into the twirling wind. The witch herself began to spin so fast she couldn’t even think straight. Jimmy became himself again, but the witch staggered trying to catch her balance. She shook it off and tossed twenty rounds of ball lightning at him, but the force field was too strong.

When she realized what was going on she cast a spell, Ominus Glopus Guild, remove the awesome force field!! With the force field removed, Jimmy quickly reached into his utility belt and ate two magic berries. He turned himself into an angry lion and rushed toward the evil witch. As he leaped high into the air, she changed him into a mouse; then picked him up by the tail and tossed him off of the cliff. Die brat, die! she screamed. She picked up her wet hat and put it back on.

Jimmy bounced hard on the ground, then turned himself back to human. He flew up in his costume up to the high cliff where he had fallen from. As soon as she saw him, the purple witch gave a powerful jolt of electricity, a lightning bolt coming from the right index finger for about five minutes. She then lifted him high in the air while zapping him with electricity and slammed him to the ground again and again. She then shrank him down smaller and smaller until ants were the size of houses; then even smaller until he was microscopic in size.

Oh, my Garbo! he said. She cackled, then shrank herself down in size and turned into a deadly virus, slowly creeping her way toward poor Jimmy. Anti-viral spray! he yelled, and a large spray can to eliminate germs appeared in his hand. He sprayed her several times. She quickly grew back up to normal size and so did Jimmy. The purple witch stared at Jimmy. He shrugged his shoulders and said, You missed. She gave a big frown, opened her mouth wide and a big blow torch of fire came streaming out. He came running towards her and turned himself into a wall of water, putting out the flame.

She quickly turned into hot steam and came at Jimmy who had turned back into a boy. He spun around like a tornado again and scattered the witch in every direction. She turned human and so did he. He then opened up a vortex to another dimension and shoved her inside. That was easy! he said to himself. Then from out of nowhere her purple hand came out of thin air and pulled him in!

It’s not over yet, boy! she yelled angrily. Then she squished Jimmy until he was as flat as a pancake. He sprang back up like an accordion; then sprang back into shape. The witch pointed her right index finger at him about to zap him when he immediately put a splinter in her long purple finger. An electric bolt came out giving her more pain than she could take. Ouch, that hurt!! she screamed. So she switched to her left index finger and said, Be you in the Sadlands! You too! said Jimmy.

They were both transported to a polluted brown sky in the Sadlands. Jimmy saw a giant earthworm-like creature in the distance, made it appear in front of the witch and it swallowed her. She quickly turned it into a fog, and it floated away. The evil witch looked this way and that, saw a huge vulture flying in the stale brown air, made it swoop down and gobbled
