About this ebook

The framework

The journey of spirituality is unique to each individual, therefore, you need a compass. And the message in Think, Be Still, & Grow Spiritually can be used to form a useful spiritual framework. The title reflects the fact that thinking is a pre-condition to manifest anything, but that thinking has to be properly channeled.

The spiritual framework is explained using the acronym FOLDING, for forgiveness, openness, learning, denial, intentionality, nurturing, and gratitude. These elements are separated for purposes of illustration, although they are all interconnected.

Think, Be Still, & Grow Spiritually shows:

the nature and scope of the declarations that are at the heart of spiritual development how spiritual and physical bodies work with each other how essential universal laws have an impact on your daily living what constitutes your spiritual manifesto

TRIBUTES TO THE AUTHOR OF THINK, BE STILL, & GROW SPIRITUALLY FROM A NETWORK OF SPIRITUAL SEEKERS OF DIFFERENT RELIGIONS AND DIVERSE SPIRITUAL TRADITIONS

". . . The spiritual light that Rochford shines was ignited and flared on a lifelong journey of spiritual searching. From a foundation in Christianity (Roman Catholic and Spiritual Baptist) he has immersed himself inter alia in comparative religion, Transcendental Meditation, Yoga, Eckankar, Reiki, Freemasonry and Feng Shui. He used the basic teachings of the Christian tradition as a point of reference for validation of whatever spiritual discoveries he encountered.

The references in his writing make it clear that he has not strayed from his Christian roots, but he is not on a conversion trip, nor is he trying to save anyone from hell. His book is written in a spiritual tone, absent of a religious perspective. He invites the reader to substitute any spiritual identity with which they are comfortable whenever they encounter words like God, Creator, Jesus, Universe. People of all religious denominations, atheists, agnostics, whomsoever, would be able to relate to what the book has to offer.

The essence of the offering resides in the title of the book. The reader is invited firstly to think, to acknowledge that everything, every achievement began as an abstract thought; that once these thoughts get focused on grasping the seven foundational elements of spirituality, one can then make contact with one’s Higher Self through being still and thereafter grow spiritually. …"

Author of The Estates Within: A docu-drama

". . . There are many areas in the book in which I think that your views are insightful and well written. In the preface you made a very concrete case on why you are qualified to write such a book. In the opening chapter on what spirituality entails, you gave a very clear synopsis of some of the main pillars of what many believe spirituality to be, as well as useful practical examples on how to put it into action. I was particularly impressed with your writings on forgiveness, gratitude and learning for spiritual growth. The concept of moving from monologue to dialogue is something we often discuss here at home. In the battlefield of the mind, undiscussed/unshared/baseless, thoughts and conclusions, swirl round, build momentum and establish fortresses from which our own destruction swiftly comes. The acronym FOLDING is not only clever, but manages to sum up what a well-rounded and reasonable state of mind/ manifesto for living.

I will not use the word ‘criticism’, but rather ‘disagreement’ with many areas of the book and that should not undermine your efforts in anyway. You are an accomplished writer! My own ‘spiritual’ journey has previously led me to become involved with various religious denominations which I today reject in their entirety. …"

Author of 40 DAYS OF PRAISE

"The author has used a very broad brush which encompasses (‘inter alia’) some traditional values and techniques. These values no doubt contribute to the basis of happiness and well-being.

What is different however is that this book goes even further and suggests practical guidelines on how to achieve desired results".

    Vishnu Deonarine

    …fellow seeker

For those who live a life of spiritual awareness, this book is a veritable roadmap through territory charted and uncharted.

For those perhaps not yet in the spirit of their being, the book provides a fine introduction and companionship for them to consider the journey.

My assessment can be done by the measure of ‘weights’—that the book is at one and same time of middle, heavy and light weights.

Its ‘middle’-weight comes from how balanced the submissions seek to be.

The book achieves ‘heavy’-weight by virtue of the extraordinary depth and range to which it goes.

It arrives at its ‘light’-weight by way of the extraordinarily easy style of writing Rochford employs.

Overall, the book is worth its three ‘weights’ in any affordable exchange. One emerges from it, a better person both potentially and actually…wanting to Think, Be still, & Grow Spiritually, as much as it surely can be done with these guidelines.

    AN OFFERING OF BALM

The proposition that the effrontery prevailing upon our space at present, will successfully further wither our spirit into dread submission at being witnesses to our own funeral has no chance, up against our just, indefatigable poetic will!

Under all this insurrectionist weight, a prefatory soul exults, setting perdition’s obdurate Seals asunder; before it, their prevaricators will retreat to their solicitude of acrid, underarm odors and that commotion suited insomniacs. It will be this progeny of a fiercer zeal, Philip Rochford, by avoiding the spit of peddle among aphorisms of pavement glitter, to emerge armed with an aurora of minted texts…and, with salved disposition, and the sonorous timbre of his arborescent faith, transfix centurion pillories; putting those barren bearings of misalliance to rest in their deep, dark slough of misanthrope…

That he has persisted with successive testimonials, he has published seven titles; demonstrates a will that will not wane under that impounding death that will not die… He is certain to urge us, guaranteed: To Think, Be Still, & Grow Spiritually! (Is the Key) –Indeed, a dream stirs, again, reminding us further; to fain Gravity is to be ennobled by Grace!

    Dr. David Lee Sheng Tin,

    Author of Awaken Your Divinity

I re-read several paragraphs of this book following its suggested dictum – THINK, BE STILL & GROW SPIRITUALLY. I was pleasantly amazed how I became aware of my sprit for the first time, as I transcended the space around me. My sprit lifted out of my body making me aware (for the first time) of what an out of body experience felt like.

During the period of this experience, I became a victim of the Chickingunya virus: this odyssey made me helpless, could not sit up on my bed, walk, standup, or even lift up the telephone receiver. As my body positively responded to my treatment that I applied to myself, new faith, confidence and hope, helped me to pay more close attention to the
