Quite often, were all too blinded by the darkness within us rather than the light around us. When the obvious negatives hinder our thoughts, we seldom recognize the beauty of things and their meanings. Confronting Shadows is my take on the light around us, the light we seldom notice in our busy lives. Through this, my debut literary work, I dont aspire to bring about any paradigm shift in our perception of the world around us, but instead take a tiny step to make you smile a bit more than you normally do. E very good work of poetry is a fresh assurance that poetry will not die from the human heart, nor will it cease to be a rejuvenating or self renewing force in society. Ria’s poetic debut Confronting Shadows confirms that feeling. Here poetry is born with fledgeling beauty, with pristine glory. Her poetry is all her own, with no shadow of imitation, with no hankering after established models.
