CHAPTER 1

Welcome to Eternity Entertainment

A nnyeong-haseo, my name is Hee Young. I introduced myself. I feel a little bit nervous, but I try to look normal. I swallowed, when I see Kang Yoon Sook look at me.

I learned his figure.

Kang Yoon Sook, the founder of Eternity Entertainment. He is a former member of a Korean rock band in late 1990’s, before he created Eternity Entertainment. I swallowed again as I think of it. He is really famous for being strict in trainings.

Seeing him a person like this, makes me feel even more nervous.

Okay, hello, Hee Young-ssi. What is your specialty? He asked me in a calm tone.

I take a deep breath.

I promised myself that I am going to do my best in this Eternity Audition.

My specialty is singing. I sing since I was a little kid, and I also learned how to play guitar in elementary school, I said.

The other judges look at me, some of them are smiling.

Anything else? A woman said to me, You are very pretty,

"Kamsahamnida (thank you)," I blushed straight away, making Kang Yoon Sook laughed.

I can dance hip hop, and my father owned a dance studio in Busan. So I have a lot of experience with dance, I said again.

That’s awesome. Kang Yoon Sook said, but his face is straight, It is written here that you can speak a lot of languages?

I nodded. Yes, my father is Korean, so I can speak Korean fluently. My mom is Indonesian, so I can speak Indonesian very well. I also fluent in English. And lately, I’ve been learning Chinese,

The two judges looked amazed, one of them even clapped.

Who is your favorite K-Pop star? One man who sit next to Kang Yoon Sook asked me.

I smiled straight away, answering even without thinking, IU!

Kang Yoon Sook eyes widened, That’s interesting. You even bring a guitar with you. You two look similar,

The other judges laugh again, one of them said, Okay, you can start now.

I nodded nervously as I take my guitar and sit down on the chair provided.

I am going to sing IU’s song, Bad Day, I said. All of the judges are paying attention to me as I started to play my guitar.

As I finished singing, the judges are clapping at me. I blushed again, making most of them laughed.

Your voice is very beautiful, the lady said. The other judges are smiling, giving an agree signs. I am so relieved, they seems to be satisfied with my performance.

You are good. One of the best for today, Kang Yoon Sook said, before looking at me again and say, Welcome to Eternity Entertainment. Without any other consideration, you are a trainee.

I froze on my seat, I can’t say anything. My face is all red, but slowly, I smiled widely, Oh my God! Really?

Kang Yoon Sook and the other judges are smiling at me, before letting me out of the room. One of the woman gave me a paper, and she asked me to go back here tomorrow.

I leave the room with a very weird feeling on my belly. I am a trainee. A trainee! A trainee in Eternity Entertainment! This is real!!!

I walk out with confidence, searching the crowd for my best friends, Ha Neul and Ji Woon.

Where are they? I said to myself, and I just can’t wait to tell them that I am now a trainee.

There are so many people here, some of them are still waiting their turns to go in. I gave them a big smile. Many of them stared at me, looking at the paper I am holding. Some of them looked at me in wonder. Probably they are wondering if I passed.

While trying my best to walk in the crowd, I feel someone is poking me on the shoulder.

Yeah? I look at him. He is a guy, I can tell. But I cannot see his face, because he is wearing a hoodie and he is covering his face with a scarf.

Good job. Nice voice anyway, He said. I cannot see his mouth, but his eyes is smiling.

How do you know? How did you see my performance? I wonder.

He just laughed, and then leave me there. I am about to call him back, but then I see my friends, Ha Neul and Ji Woon on the waiting seat.

Ji Woon! Ha Neul! I call out. They noticed me, and run to me straight away. Ji Woon’s face looked worried.

How was it, Hee Young? Ji Woon asked, I can feel Ha Neul was pressing my shoulder.

I smiled, I am now a trainee,

Omo! Ha Neul screamed!

Daebak! Jin Woon hugged me. Ha Neul then join the hug.

But… Ha Neul stop hugging me, I thought there are more auditions before you become a trainee?

Yes, but Kang Yoon Sook decided to make me a trainee straight away! I cried happily.

That’s awesome! Ji Woon added.

No wonder, you are so talented! Ha Neul looked happy.

Ha Neul and Ji Woon are my school friends. We are always together since grade 5, and both of them are having dance courses in my father’s dance studio. They came to Seoul with me, all the way from Busan, only to accompany me. How great!

Let’s eat something to celebrate! Ji Woon said excitedly, We are in Seoul after all!

Okay, at least let me call my father first! I said. I take my phone out, calling my father. He is still in Busan, he was unable to come with me.

Appa! I am accepted! I am now a trainee! I screamed straight away as I hear his voice saying ‘hello’.

Wow! That’s incredible, Hee Young-a! I am so proud of you! I cannot wait to tell everybody in studio right now! My father replied from the other side. I laughed.

Okay, appa. We will return to Busan at night. We are going to eat first, I said with a big smile.

Okay! Hurry home! I cannot wait to see you! This is great! I am going to tell your mom! I am so proud!

Hahaha! Calm down, Dad! I am excited too! I said. We talked for several minutes, then I ended the call.

I approached my friends, and then we are ready to leave, before we heard a huge noise from inside.

What is it? Jin Woon wonders. I look at the crowd. It seems someone is passing. Probably someone important?

"Omo (Oh my God in Korean)," Ha Neul closed her mouth with her hands.

What happened? I ask her.

The crowd is getting wilder, and I think a star probably just passed. Probably VOX? Or another idol group from this entertainment? But what are they doing in the middle of audition like this? Isn’t too crowded for them?

You don’t know them, Hee Young?

Ha Neul asked me. I shook my head innocently.

The crowds is making a huge gap, letting some people to pass. I look at them. Oh, they are all boys. They look like a boyband, a trainee as well?

Omo, omo, Ha Neul is still freaking out, I didn’t expect to see them here,

I laughed at Ha Neul’s stupid face. And then I stared at the boys again. They now look in hurried, they run pass by us, trying to avoid the crowds, that now looked like a crazy fans.

Each of them run out, half running. One by one of them passes through us, and then I noticed someone. There’s a guy that talked to me before! I noticed his jacket! He is still covering face with his scarf. Maybe he’s having a cold?

It seems like he didn’t notice me, as he just walk straight. I am staring at his back, watching him leave.

Ah! Hyungs, this is Noona with the beautiful voice!

I heard a cute voice near me, and I look at the source and finding a really cute boy standing next to me. His face is very cute, like a little boy. He’s smiling wide at me. I was trapped in his charm for a several seconds. I can’t believe I think that he is cute. He is probably younger than me. I stared at his hair. He dyed his hair pink, only in the middle part.

He made two other boys look back at him, and then stared at me.

Ah, right, one of the boy with many earrings smiled at me.

Aish, hurry up Bam! Jason! the other boy called for them, look worried with the crowds that is getting closer.

Okay, hyung! Noona, annyeong! The pink haired guy waved at me before he leaves.

The two of them leave so fast, just like that. It feels like I was daydreaming.

Ya, Ha Neul, wake up! I heard Ji Woon’s voice, calling up for Ha Neul. She looked pale, but her cheeks are red.

"Ha Neul, are you okay? Gwaenchanha (are you okay?)" I asked her. Ha Neul shook her head, saying that she is fine.

You know them? You looked so nervous just now, Ji Woon is holding his laugh. Me too.

Aniya, Ha Neul looked shy, You guys really don’t know them?

Ji Woon and I stared at each other and we said no at the same time, which is really funny.

They are Eternity new boys, Ha Neul answered, The new boy band,

Who? I am confused.

You are so lucky! Since you’re going to be a trainee, you’ll be able to see them often! Ha Neul said again, this time with an envy face.

Haha, I don’t even know them. A new boyband? I laughed.

A really awesome boyband. Their dancing skill and martial arts are on the level of gods! Ha Neul answered.

Jin Woo nodded, I didn’t know that Eternity had form another new group.

They are new. They just debuted.

Oh really? What’s their group name? I asked, still thinking about the mysterious guy who talked to be.

They are HIGH7!

CHAPTER 2

HIGH7, Eternity New Boys

H IGH7? I am testing it with my own mouth.

Ha Neul nodded, It is a new boyband. They just debuted a month ago, and they are extremely awesome, Hee Young!

Really, I haven’t heard anything about that HIGH7, Ji Woon said honestly, There are just too many of them nowadays.

Too many boybands, you mean? I asked. He nodded. Ji Woon is not really into K-Pop as much as Ha Neul does.

"Oh, you never heard their song? Hey girls, I know you love me~~~" Ha Neul is twirling her fingers while singing a little part of the song. The song sounds familiar to me.

Ah, whatever. I am so hungry now, let’s eat something! Ji Woon looked lazy, as he walk by himself, going out of the Eternity building.

I looked back to stare at that building again and I smiled. Finally, I made it here. If JYP, SM, and YG Entertainment are the top three entertainments in Korea, then Eternity Entertainment will be the fourth place.

They’ve been releasing great stars in the past ten years, and I just can’t wait to be part of it.

Huh, boys, Ha Neul murmured as she saw Ji Woon leaving. I just laughed. I am too happy today! I am a trainee now in Eternity Entertainment! How amazing is that? I walked with them, and then we stand up near the road, waiting for taxi.

As we stand and wait, I keep on thinking about those boys, especially the mysterious boy who compliment me before. How did he see my audition? He wasn’t there as I remember.

Ya, Hee Young-a, I really envy you, Ha Neul said suddenly, she is standing next to me.

Huh? Why? I asked, removing the thoughts of those boys from my head.

Bam from HIGH7 was talking to you. He even called you ‘noona with a beautiful voice’, Ha Neul answered. She looks really envy, but her cheeks are still blushing.

I smiled. Oh, that is why.

So, that pink haired boy is… Bam? I make sure.

Yes. His stage name is Bam. He is Thai actually, Ha Neul said. It seems like she knows everything about HIGH7, making me even more curious about that new group.

How about the two guys who was with him? I asked in wonders.

Ha Neul looks excited as I ask. Ah, the one who was smiling at you is Jason. His dancing is really awesome. And the other one, who was calling for Bam and Jason, is Kang Jin Hyung.

Wow, she really knows everything about them! She is a huge fan, I can tell. But she never told me anything about this at school.

Wow, Ha Neul, you know everything, huh? I am staring at her. She blushed even more.

Ah, not really. I just know them, and I read everything about them from the internet! Gosh, Hee Young-a, I still can’t belive that they were passing through us just now!

Ji Woon and I laughed at the same time. Ha Neul is really funny. She’s a very cute and shy girl, who blushed whenever we talk about boybands in front of her.

Suddenly, we get the taxi, and Ji Woon is teling the driver to take us to a Korean Restaurant that he knows. I don’t really care about the food, I am still to excited about today. My life is going to be amazing from now on!

We enter the restaurant. It seems like Ji Woon really wants to eat the famous bibimbap here. Ha Neul and I don’t really care, so we just follow Ji Woon.

I want to eat bibimbap too, I said when we are ordering food.

Enjoy your life while you can stil eat everything. After you enter the trainee life, I don’t think you can freely eat anymore, Ha Neul said from my left side.

Yeah, true, they will make you diet like crazy, Ji Woon adding.

Ah, stop it. I am not fat! I denied straight away. They both laughed, and we order the food.

While waiting, we are busy playing phones. Ji Woon seems so busy on Instagram, Ha Neul is busy watching something from YouTube, while I read so many texts from the workers in dance studio. My dad spreads the news so fast. Their messages are just making me feel even more excited.

The food hasn’t come yet, and all of us are bored already. Suddenly, I remember of that boy again. He’s taller than me. He has warm eyes. He was wearing a black hoodie jacket. He was covering his face with a black scarf. He is one of the HIGH7 members.

Ha Neul-a, I called her.

Huh?

Actually, when I was looking for you guys, one of the HIGH7 boy was talking to me. He said that I have a nice voice, I tell them.

Ha Neul is panic, Really? Omo! Who is he?

Calm down, Ha Neul, Ji Woon said, as he noticed the change in Ha Neul’s tone.

I bite my below lips, That’s why. I don’t know him. I didn’t see his face at all. He was covering his face with a black scarf. I only see his eyes. I don’t even know how did he see my audition. He wasn’t there at all.

Ha Neul seems thinking, Ah! I can show you their pictures, maybe you can tell which one!

I nodded, Okay, maybe I can remember. I am curious as well,

Definitely not Bam, not Jason, and not Kang Jin Hyung, right? Ha Neul is trying to make sure. I nodded, because I saw that boy walk away, before Bam talked to me.

Ha Neul is offering her phone to me, This is their leader, LB,

I saw a really handsome guy with greyish, silver hair.

Not him, I saw him walking in the front when they passed by us. He didn’t cover his face at all, Ji Woon said.

Oh, really, Ha Neul looks disappointed, He is really handsome though,

Hahaha, I laughed, It’s okay. Next picture?

Ha Neul smiled, Okay, this is Sungjae,

She showed me many other pictures of the members, but I don’t noticed any of them.

Uh, too bad, Ha Neul is dropping her phone, You don’t remember the shape of his eyes? It is probably between Mark, Sungjae, and Yoo Jin!

True. It is between them, but I am not really sure…. I sighed. It is definitely between the three of them, because Kang Jin Hyung, Bam, and Jason were behind him, and LB wasn’t covering his face.

I don’t really noticed the others as well, so I don’t know the other guys who didn’t cover their face, Ji Woon said.

It’s okay. It is not a big thing, it is just… my curiosity, I said.

Well, curiosity is a big thing, Ji Woon adding. Ha Neul nodded in response, He is right! I am curious too!

Hem… I am thinking. I am trying to remember the shape of his eyes. Ha Neul was giving me her phone again, showing the picture of Mark, Yoo Jin, and and Sungjae.

Try to remember, Ha Neul is encouraging me.

I think…… I think so hard, It was his eyes,

Ha Neul eagerly looked at the picture I pointed. Ah… Yoo Jin?

This is Yoo Jin? I pointed at the photo. I am not really sure actually.

Yes! This is Yoo Jin, the maknae. His is cute too, he has charms! Ha Neul looked excited.

Wait, the maknae is not Bam? He looked like a kid though, Ji Woon stared at Ha Neul with disbelief. I was thinking that Bam is the youngest member too.

Ha Neul laughed, I know. Bam is the cutest among them. But he is older than Yoo Jin.

Woah, I cannot believe this. Bam’s face is really young.

You haven’t start your training yet, but you already make a special relationship with a boyband member. Wow, that is interesting, Ji Woon is playing naughty eyes, teasing me.

Ya, it is not like that! I react.

No, it is great, Hee Young! Your training will be very fun. You will get to see them very often! Ha Neul said, smirked at me. I wonder why is she getting so excited.

I am about to say something, but then our food comes. We start to eat, but I cannot forget what Ha Neul said just now.

Your training will be very fun.

Well, I hope so.

After we finish eating, we headed to the train station directly. We must go back to Busan before it’s getting late.

Tomorrow morning you have to go back to Eternity right? Ji Woon asked. Ha Neul is getting us hot drinks, so she’s away right now.

Yes, I am so excited. I cannot wait to start the training! I exclaimed, which makes Ji Woon smiled.

We didn’t say anything for a moment. I rubbed my cold hands, giving it a warm sensation. It is cold, but I am too happy today. I am too excited to be cold. It sounds ridiculous, but that is what I feel right now.

Hee Young-a, Ji Woon called.

Yeah? What is it? I smiled at him.

There’s something I must tell you, he said. His expression is serious, this is unusual. Ji Woon’s expression is usually playful and childish.

Uh oh. Is it something terrible? Bad news? I become aware.

He laughs a bit, No, no. It’s not something bad. It is just important,

Okay, tell me, I said in relief.

He paused for a moment, SM Entertainment is scouting me,

What? Oh! SM Entertainment! I am so shock. SM Entertainment is one of the top three entertainment, along with JYP and YG Entertainment. It is very incredible for him to be scouted.

Yeah. I was dancing with some friends in a park. And this man came to me, giving me the offer. I have a week to decide, to take it or not. He said that I am a good dancer, He explained the whole story.

Yes, he is a very good dancer. He learned popping and b-boy at the same time. And he is also quite good looking. He is able to debut, I think.

So? Have you decided? I asked.

He shook his head, I don’t know. But… I don’t know what I am going to do too with my life… if I don’t take the offer. I love to dance, but getting this offer, made me realize that I don’t have a dream actually. I have no idea what I am going to do after graduating,

I just keep quiet and listen to him.

But, seeing you today, he continues, I think I am going to take the offer,

Oh, really? I widened my eyes.

He smiles, Yeah, being a star seems fun. I mean, just look at that HIGH7 group. They look awesome and loved by people.

I nodded, Chase your dreams. Be sure of what you want to do in life.

Ha Neul suddenly come back with three cups of warm coffees. We get in to the train straight away, going back to Busan.

CHAPTER 3

Becoming a Trainee

I enter the house with a nervous feelings, cannot wait to see my father and mother. I opened the door, and suddenly, Hee Young-a!!!

I can feel a really warm hug. I smiled, it is my mom who hugged me.

"Eomma (Mom)! I made it to Eternity! I cried, cannot hold it anymore. I can see my father was standing behind her with a big smile. We are so proud of you, Hee Young!" he said.

My mom let go of me, Oh, I cannot stop jumping up and down when your father told me this afternoon. You are a trainee now, right?

Yes, Mom. I have to come again tomorrow morning, to make sure of so many things. I need to know about the details, and when I have to start the tranining, I said to her. I handed over the letter I got from Eternity Entertainment just now.

Oh, it seems like you will have to go back to Seoul and Busan everyday, my mother looked worried.

Hehe, I can stay in the dorm if I am a trainee. I can move soon, I said.

But you have to go home very often, whenever you have a chance. You are our only child, my father adding.

They took me to the dining room. My mom had prepare me a celebration cake. It is from Tous Les Jours, my favorite bakery.

"Ah, eomma! Gumawo (informal thank you)!" I am so happy seeing the cake. When I was about to eat the cake, I accidently see the television.

Hey girls, I know you love me~~

It sounds very familar. Oh, it is a HIGH7 song!

Appa, can you turn the volume? I cannot hear the song, I said to my father. He quickly take the remote and turn on the volume louder.

What is it? A new boyband? My mom is watching the TV too.

Yeah, they are in Eternity as well, I added, I met them during the audition today.

Wow, My dad amazed as he see someone doing a slow-motion flip. I looked at the boy who just did the flip. He has reddish hair.

They are very good, My mom nodded. Both of them are dancers, so they can really tell if the performance is good or not.

I searched for Yoo Jin, without realizing. I am not sure if it was Yoo Jin who talked to me, and I am still curious.

Since, I am too curious about that new boy band, HIGH7. I opened my laptop after washing up, and searched about the members of HIGH7.

Okay, so.. They just debuted two months ago, with their debut song, Hey Girl.
