About this ebook

Does the Old Testament of the Bible tell us about things that are
in the Book of Revelation?
Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall
be, and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there
is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 3:15 That which hath been is now, and that which
is to be hath already been, and God requireth that which is
past.
Isaiah 45:11 Thus saith the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, and
his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and
concerning the work of my hands
command ye me.
Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from
the beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I
will do all my pleasure

    Foreward

Because of the many prophecies that have been fulfilled, I am of the opinion that the end of the age is close at hand. I started studying the Book of Revelation of the Bible because in this day and age I felt like I needed to know just what it was saying to the people of the earth. From my studies I have found that Jesus is to come back toward the middle of the 7 years of tribulation (mid-trib).

Understanding is not something that we get today, and throw aside for some time in the future when we feel like picking it up again. Increasing one’s knowledge should be an on going thing. We are to stay in God’s word (the Bible) so we do not forget what it is saying to us.

Matthew 13:19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

Isaiah 28:9aWhom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, . . .

Isaiah 28:10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.

Isaiah 28:12To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Precept—Concordance—#6673 = an utterance, commandment #6680 = to command, order, instruct, give direction

My hope is that others will not take what I have put forth literally. If I can search the scriptures and find what I have found, not being a scholar of the Bible, others can do the same and take it to a higher level than I have.

I had no intention of writing a book when I was searching the scriptures of the Bible. After having searched the scriptures, I thought others may like to know what I found in them.

    Chapter 1

    Revelation chapter 12 is history.

REVELATION 12:1-2 [1] 1. And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.2. And she being with child cried, travailing in birth and, pained to be delivered.

    Reference to Revelation 12:2—Isaiah 42:13-14 & Micah 5:1-4

ISAIAH 42:13-1413. The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall prevail against his enemies.14. I have long time holden my peace, I have been still, and refined myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

MICAH 5:1-41. Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek,2. But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting, 3. Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth; then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.4. And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the end of the earth.

References to Micah 5:4—Daniel 7:27, Micah 4:8, and II Peter 2:5

DANIEL 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

MICAH 4:8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.

    II Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

[1] Some people think the woman represents God’s church. I am giving some verses that I think are referring to this.

ISAIAH 66:6-8 & 12-146. A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice from the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.7. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.8. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.12. For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her side, and be dangled upon her knees.13. As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you: and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.14. And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

Isaiah 66:6-8 and 12-14 is also telling of rendering recompense or restitution to his saints and to the wicked who refuse to serve God. I am giving some meanings to the words recompense and restitution from the concordance. Recompense—what is done; what is deserved, reward, retribution (A dictionary meaning for retribution is—punishment that one deserves for a wrong he has done.) Restitution—incurable, desperately wicked, woeful. I am giving some more reference verses to God rewarding the good and punishing the evil. (Acts 3:20-23 & 26)

ACTS 3:20-23 & 25-2620. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:21. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.22. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.23. And it shall come to pass that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.25. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.26. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

I think after God’s indignation (Isaiah 66:14) is shown toward his enemies marks the end of the first 3 ½ years of tribulation.

The references verses to Isaiah 66:12 are Romans 11:25 and 29-32.

ROMANS 11:25 & 29-3225. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.29. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.30. For ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31. Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.32. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

REVELATION 12:3-43. And there appeared another wonder in heaven and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.4. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

    Reference to Revelation 12:4—Daniel 8:10-12

DANIEL 8:10-1210. And it waxed great even to the host of heaven: and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them.11. Yea he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.12. And an host was given against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground: and it practiced, and prospered.

REVELATION 12:5-65. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. [2] 6. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

    Reference to Revelation 12:5—Revelation 19:15

REVELATION 19:15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

    _________________________________________________________

[2] In Revelation 12:6the woman has a place prepared for her during the same 1,260 day time frame (3 ½ years) as when the 2 witnesses are prophesying (Rev. 11:3). In Revelation 12:14they call this 3 ½ year time frame a time, and times, and half a time.

REVELATION 11:1-31. And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.2. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.3. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

REVELATION 12:14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

If the woman (the church) is nourished away from the face of the serpent (the devil), I believe that the devil has no power over her at this time. I think that they are talking about the last 3 ½ years of tribulation. The earth is going to be pretty desolate after God poures out his wrath.

JOEL 2:10-11, 19, 21, & 2410. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: 11. And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?19. Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:21. Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.24. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.

The reference verses to Revelation 11:2 are Luke 21:20, 22, and 24-28.

LUKE 21:20, 22, & 24-2820. And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.22. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.24. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.25. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring:26. Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things, which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.27. And then shall they see the son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.28. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

The reference verses to Luke 21:26-28 are Revelation 16:13-16

REVELATION 16:13-1613. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.14. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.15. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.16. And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Before they reach the Armageddon battle field, we are interrupted, and Jesus tells us that he comes as a thief. I think that Jesus is coming back just before the Armageddon battle. I also think that Jesus will be here during the last 3 ½ years of tribulation.

In Luke 21:20, 22, and 24-28they are referring to the approaching time when God’s people are to be redeemed. What do the people that do not serve the Lord have to look forward to?

ISAIAH 8:18-2218. Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.19. And when
