About this ebook

God's desire is that man should always have a cordial relationship with Him. Cordial in the sense, that we know Him, love Him and believe in Him and He will constantly show up in every situation that looks bigger than us.

His desire is to appear and help, once a man calls on Him and cry for help in the times of trouble. At times, He even comes when any of His beloved child is still thinking about calling on Him. See Isaiah 65:24. It often depends on the level of one's relationship with Him.

Once God is there, it can either be for the purpose of good or for bad. It depends on us to choose. Good for good works and bad for bad works. He watches over us and sees every situation and our approach towards them. It does not make him happy seeing us suffer or being in various kinds of troubles, but He always expects that we should call on Him, to come to our aid knowing that He cares for us.

God cares in so many ways. He can show up and help His people through a sign or a miracle. He can show up and help us directly through a vision, a dream or a trance. He can also use His angels to show up and help us or use a man of God to show up and speak to us through His word.

No matter how we may feel in our situation or how tough we think the situation is, He is always on time. The Bible has stories of Him and what happened when He showed up. In the book of Genesis, the story of how man was created is told. There, we see God creating man in His own image and likeness.

He made a garden and kept man there, to take care of it. Man however, was disobedient and did not keep to the rules and regulations that God laid down for him to live by. Because of this, God showed up angry and this led to man being chased out of the garden of Eden.

God laid curses on man due to that event but in His kindness as God, He still did not destroy man. The Bible recorded that He killed an animal and used its skin to cover the man and his wife. The man Adam did not invite God, but God saw what had happened and came to take action against the man, his wife and the beast that deceived and led them to disobey their creator.

This book is written to look at situations where God showed up in the lives of people as recorded in the word of God, the Bible and use them as a landmark for us to have a clear understanding on the things God has prepared and He has done, is doing and will do, for His people in general.

God has never intended to abandon anyone who trusts in Him. He is always there by the side, waiting for us to call on Him who is able. He said, "I am the Lord the God of all flesh, is anything too hard for me to do?"

There is absolutely nothing too hard for our God to do. He is a warrior and a shield, the mighty man in battle. He has never lost any battle and cannot lose today. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Once we call on him, in spirit and in truth, He answers and show His steadfastness as the only true God. As the almighty God, He cannot share His glory with any other God.

The psalmist said, "Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's:. PREFACE

God’s desire is that man should always have a cordial relationship with Him.

It often depends on the level of one’s relationship with Him.

    ––––––––

But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered:  for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

One of the attributes of God is that He saves. Sure, He saves His people anytime they are in trouble and call to Him. The Bible is filled with stories of how God saved the people that trusted in Him and gave them victory over their enemies.

Anytime God stays away from doing the work of saving His people, it is because the people have sinned against Him and cannot call for His help. But each time they repented, He comes to their aid swiftly, saving and providing for them like a father would do for His children.

When the people of God sinned in the time of Noah, the Bible recorded that Noah found favor with God and so God saved him and his family. If you read the story in Genesis chapter 6, you will see that Noah didn’t know that God had intended to destroy the earth.

He simply lived his life in the fear of God and because of his ways of life; God came to him at the time He (God) wanted to destroy His creation and gave Noah instructions on what he should do, to be safe with his family. So then, if all men had lived like Noah, God would not have destroyed the earth.

Jacob took his family and fled from the home of his father in-law because he was maltreated and he wanted to get away from there. Genesis chapter 31 tells how He made arrangements with his wives and left with his entire family. They took all their belongings and left in secret.

When his father in-law Laban found out that they had left, he went them. It is recorded in verse 24 of Genesis 31; that God was quick to visit Jacob’s father in-law in a dream of the night and warned him not to say anything to Jacob, good or bad and that was how Jacob and his family members were saved. His father in-law had pursued them in anger, but God stopped him from harming Jacob.

It is written in the Bible: If God, be for us who can be against us? He is the saviour of those who put their trust in Him. Have there been any incident that happened around you that would have taken your life but God was there to save you?

Imagine seeing something that looks like a piece of cloth on the floor but as you get close to it, you suddenly hear a voice that says be careful. The voice you heard was instantaneous and you stopped to look at that seemingly piece of cloth again. Just then, it began to move and you realized it was a dangerous snake. God just saved you!

Many times we face situations that we can’t really explain how we got out of them. We would have died or got seriously injured, but we overcame them mysteriously. I once drove a car two hours from my location to another location and while I was driving, there was a noise in the car that I could not explain. But I just kept moving, feeling that I will check what it was when I got to my destination. Eventually, I got to my destination and forgot all about the noise.

After I finished with what I went to do, I got back into the car and started back another two hours journey to my location. On the way, I again heard the same sound but I thought well, I was going back to my location and will check whatever it was, once I arrived. I was really very careless but God helped me and I got back safely.

When I parked and got out of the car, I decided to check where the noise was coming from and I found out that one of the car tires had no wheel nuts holding it. Then I remembered the vulcanizer who worked on the tire. He had put back the tire and used his fingers to turn the wheel nuts. He forgot to use the wheel spanner to hold the nuts tight.

I believe God showed up in that journey and saved me as I went to and fro. The same thing might have happened to other people and they died because they got into a serious accident on the high way. Yes I should have stopped to check the noise but I did not due to one reason or the other.

In that my carelessness, God was there with me. I didn’t do the right thing, I should have done but if the worst had happened, no one would have known the true story. I guess, God saved me to tell the story today and teach others. It also shows God’s love and commitment to save a beloved.

Joseph went to prison before Pharaoh had a dream. The story of Joseph is so popular because it showed a small boy who was sold into slavery by his own brothers. Simply because his brothers were jealous of the love their father had for him. So on seeing him in the desert, they concluded to kill him and tell their father a story of how a wild animal killed him.

But his eldest brother Reuben used his influence and tried to prevent them from carrying out their wicked plan. They agreed to put him in a pit instead and left him there. Reuben thought to himself that he had saved his little brother but unknown to him, he will never see Joseph again for a long time.

Man can try to save a fellow man by any available possible means. They always do, but events can change and show the inabilities of man. When Reuben left Joseph in the pit with the rest of his brothers, they were satisfied until they saw some slave traders passing their way. Then they decided to sale Joseph to them.

Reuben came back and did not find him where he left him with his other brothers. He tried but his effort was not enough to save Joseph from what was coming to him. That was how Joseph ended up in Egypt as a slave. As if it was not enough, his master’s wife came after him and succeeded in putting him, in prison.

It was in the prison, that he met two servants of the king of Egypt who both dreamt and Joseph interpreted their dreams for them. He then asked them to remember him when they got out of the prison and things went as he had told them. The men agreed but after they left the prison, they forgot about him.

As he had interpreted the two different dreams of the two Pharaoh’s servants, one of the servants was killed by the king as Joseph had told them, while the other stayed alive and continued to serve the king. The one that was alive never thought again of Joseph or remembered him until Pharaoh had a very disturbing dream.

My opinion here is that God showed up for Joseph. It was time for him to be freed. As the story is told in Genesis chapter 41, the servant who forgot Joseph suddenly remembered him and the incident at the prison which brought them together. This servant also remembered that all he told him were as he said and he wasted no time in telling his story to the king who sent for Joseph immediately.

What you might not know, is that God knows about that your situation and He had set it all up for a purpose. He sees your tears and hears your prayers but He has a set time to show up. That was how Joseph came out of prison and became a prime minister in Egypt just in one day. There was no process or discussions and negotiation. Who would have thought it possible for an unknown slave boy to occupy one of the highest offices in his country of slavery?

This all happened because God showed up and added super behind the natural. Joseph kept on trusting in the God of father for no other reason other than, that He is God. He (Joseph); refused to give up even when it seemed like all was well for
