    Dedications

This book is especially dedicated to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who truly is my Keeper. I never need to seek revenge against any of my enemies. I have given that and all of my cares to Jesus. The Lord God, Jesus Christ is my Avenger.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7 KJV)

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. (Romans 12:19 KJV)

A Special Dedication to Just Bernard

Bernard is my husband of 31 years. In a conversation with family and friends one day he was asked the question, who are you? His response was; I am just Bernard. If you asked me the same question, I would quickly say, he is so much more than that to me. He has been there through the good, the bad and the ugly times and has supported me in all that I have set my hands to do. Honey thank you for your prayers and your great help and support throughout all the years. I love you dearly and bless God for you.

    Appreciations

A special word of love and thanks to my family starting with my husband Bernard, our children and their spouses: Jasmine and Eric, Jessica and Charles, Angelica and DeJesus (DJ), Robert and Angela and all of G Daddy and Nanna’s grandchildren: Amayah, Lauryn, DeJesus Jr., Cameron, Kairi, Christian and there is one on the way (Robert and Angela). Additionally, I want to thank my sister Linda Wooten for editing and being such a great supporter of all my writings.

Blessings and love to my pastor, Apostle Brenda Medley and all the ministers of Empowered Ministries, Inc. Plenty of hugs and a debt of love and gratitude I owe to these and many more of God’s Prayer Warriors: Annie Boomer, Brenda and Sharnese Ringo, Elder Diana White, Hope Johnson, Jacqueline Williams, Jennifer Jones, Lynn Suletar Gosa, Michelle Key, Natasha Arceneaux, Shanee Roache, Shaquita Ano, Sharon Bell Hudson, Sheron Chaney, Tyrica Parades (Mamma Joyce and Simone), Vanessa Bradford and Van Taylor.

Reflections, Revelation, Wisdom: What I’ve Learned

    Introduction

O ne day while traveling down Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Parkway, I heard myself praying. As I listened in, it was not the prayers that I had memorized as a child that I heard. The petitions and supplications were issues from my heart and things that I was expecting God to bring to completion. What I realized was, I had been praying like this for a while almost unknowingly on those one hour commutes to and fro from Columbia, Maryland to Washington, DC. No longer was I reciting prayers, but speaking straight from my heart to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Praise, honor and blessing I give to my Lord Jesus. It was the beginning of a new and different relationship that would become an intimate and interesting journey. I remember during that timeframe praying for friends who had cancer and all of them died. This did not deter my prayers because I believed God for their healing. It would be years later when God would allow me to lead and moderate a national prayer line for my church Empowered Ministries, Inc. (EMI) when God would perform miraculous healings, showing Himself mighty and strong. No longer am I praying alone. I have many prayer partners, I call them prayer warriors for they diligently petition God for others by taking issues, concerns and problems to the Lord in prayer. Truly I have learned that, The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much (James 5:16). As we have called Him up, God has responded with His saving grace, breakthroughs, deliverance, healings, favor and so much more.

The answered prayers and testimonies have been awesome, for our God is awesome! There was a year when we prayed for three pregnant mothers who were all having difficult pregnancies, in fact, two of them were carrying twins. God brought all of the pregnancies to term and the deliveries were of healthy babies from healthy mothers. We have experienced a brother and a husband’s release from prison, find jobs and lives begin to turn around. More recently we have seen God heal after knee surgeries and knee replacements, one even without the use of medication. He has healed many from various types of cancers including brain cancer and lymphoma. He has shown Himself mighty, strong and faithful, to Him be all honor, glory and praise!

Know that prayer is not a lost art. Never think that God is not listening. Truly, He hears us before we call and while we are yet speaking; He is answering (Isaiah 65:24). All men should pray for God is listening. If you are having a crisis or you are at a crossroad not knowing which way to turn, try Jesus. In the natural you can imagine a crossroad and as you travel there is a choice to make. You can go north, south, east or west. You can also look at it as going left, right, backward or forward. My friend Sharon, one of the prayer warriors said: "When you’re at a crossroad, look to Jesus who died for us on the cross +. He did a finished work, His work is complete. So when I’m at a crossroad, I look up. The word of God says, If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:1-2 KJV). I wait in expectation of Jesus always bringing me and others safely through every crisis, trial, tribulation or trouble. And I have watched Him do it consistently time and time again. I used to be a worrier, now I’m a prayer warrior!

Once a Worrier, now a WARRIOR!

This is my introduction in one aspect to Revenge of a Prayer Warrior, but more so, it’s a case for prayer. Oh the devil may have won some scrimmages, but Jesus gave me the victory. We learn in the Bible that Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Why pray? Jesus is listening and He is answering. You may not hear yea and Amen from Him every day, however remember this: He will never leave you nor forsake you and He always comes through right on time. FAITHFUL is His name, and that my friend, you can take to the bank. Hebrews 10:23 (NIV) states it this
