    WHAT GAMES DID YOU PLAY?

    Boys Love to Climb

    It is in the nature of little boys to climb, climb, climb. Oh, I don’t say all boys climb, but, most of them do, from the time they learn how to crawl, they will investigate a higher place, just to see what the world looks like.

    We love to scale the buckeye tree in Grandpa’s back yard, not really fearful until we look down and think, Oh, oh, how will we get down from here?

    We made a tree house hiding place several summers ago, with a swing on one of the limbs, a pallet wedged in the fork of the tree, thinking all the while this would keep the girls from climbing or finding us in our tree house. You do know, don’t you, the girls just could not be left out. They had to add a curtain to the limbs, just to make it more cozy.

    It is about time for the buckeye tree to shed its fruit. It will drop many round balls which have inside them the pretty polished buckeye nut. This is not good for humans to eat, but the squirrels and mice will devour them. We love to pick up the nuts and if you have a grandpa who is resourceful, buckeye necklaces can be made from the
