Barbara J. Stevenson-Spurgon, lives with her husband James A. Spurgon in Marion, Indiana. As a parent and a former Middle School teacher she is motivated to use her training and experience to write children’s books that encourage parents to become more actively involved with their child’s learning.
Inspired by her own childhood and the lessons learned from play she has created this innovative book. “Have you ever made mud pies on a Hot Summer Day” is a fun book as a read aloud for young children. It is also a fun book that introduces terms for advanced learning for children of all ages.
Barbara is the author of “An Oral History Of African Americans In Grant County”. Compiled and edited by Barbara J. Stevenson. Under the same name she has a poem, ‘Old Silent One’, that was published in the book ‘Grand Fathers’ by Nikki Giovanni.view less
