ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and
DEDICATIONS: This book is dedicated to all of you who have given me the confidence and support to write another book of poetry that touches the hearts and minds of many people.
I would like to thank those who are directly responsible for making this book a reality: my wife Deborah, the love of my life and the one who makes my life complete and who has always had confidence in me. I thank you for believing in me and everything we have accomplished. I thank you for not only being my partner in business but in life as well. I will always love you. My mother Lillie Mae, who is always with me in spirit and for passing on a wonderful talent I can share with the world. My godfather Isaac Battie, who is the father I never had. I thank you for your wisdom, friendship, and insight on life. My children who keep me pushing for greater things in life: Tyreija, April, Monté Jr., Uzziah, and Shanice. My sister Bernita Pleasant and cousin Johnathan Cooper for supporting me in my endeavors and for everything you do. My best friend Joshua Adams, who very much inspires me as much as I inspire him. The Fennells for allowing my family to be a part of yours. Thank you, Anita Chappell and Flossie Ashe, for being inspirational and supportive in my time of need. To all of you who continued to ask for this book, I thank you. It has helped me to finish the project that has so long been denied.

THE CORE OF MY POETRY
Clear your mind, then open up to a
horizon beyond expectations
Create a tunnel for images to pass through, as if you’re in a story
The human mind is infinite,
it has no boundaries, no limitations
You are the creator, become a painter in your own mind
Separate yourself from this world of reality
Let your mind create its own world of delusion
Then add your own unrealistic phobias, to enhance your theory
Make changes within your own imagination
Branch off to other aspects within your controlled domain
Then endure the sensation of living beyond reality
Caress the intensity and understand your fictional delusions
Your endearments into this world,
will suddenly become overwhelmed
Keep track of your path back to reality, for if you become stuck in
Oblivion, you pay the ultimate price, forever in a coma
Remember you are the controller of your intellect world
Your subconscience will play tricks, as it often does,
to convince the mind
In becoming as one, to subdue the
brain into becoming soulless
Once your objective is achieved, you must break away
It’s time to trace your routes back into the real world of reality
Soon after, a feeling of power will
soon be infiltrated in your mind
The feeling to understand the most difficult situations
Now you have conquered, what I have conquered,
but others have yet too
And what some may never be able to experience
Now these are the visions in which I create,
write, and explore
This is the core of my life, the world of my poetry, welcome aboard …
CHAPTER 1
Beyond and Within the
Age of Innocence
FOR YEARS, I HAVE SEARCHED FOR TRUE LOVE ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN, ONLY REALIZING THAT TRUE LOVE CAN ONLY BE FOUND FROM THE INSIDE LOOKING OUT . . .
LUSTFUL FIEND
As a witness in life
In light of the bloom
The one who consumes
The prey that looms
Shielding my passion
That controls my emotions
In the mix of the commotion
With eyes, of a love potion
She took complete control
Captured with the intent
To discover my descent
Destined to explore, places
She’s never seen before
I rose to the occasion
Prepared for the journey
As the guilt stood before me
Turning my heart against me
With regards to my denial
Brainwashed like a child
As she slowly took the towel
Without resistance from me
I proceeded into seduction
Bonded with the touching
Fighting the corruption
Of hormones within me
Explode into paradise
Striking the bell at the precise
Motion in flight
To fulfill this lustful fiend
As my heart started pumping
The blood started rushing
It almost, made me scream
Lost in direction
Blinded by affection
As my mind started messing
My conscience was attacking me
As her climax begins
She’s holding the wind
Of a felling she hopes
would never, ever end
As I started to descend
Thinking only of the sin
Realizing I’m only man
Like the wind blowing sand
Through the cracks of my hand
I’m only man; I’m only man
I’m only a Man . . .
LIFE’S ADDICTION
I’ ve become addicted and I cannot break loose
I’d rather not be in this position,
It’s something I didn’t choose
It has made me do things, I would never, ever do
But this addiction is so powerful,
I thought I knew
There is only one cure and it’s
Hidden within myself
I need a solution to this problem,
I’m begging for help
My family has tried, but I’m only a nuisance
I never meant to hurt anyone,
But I’m under this influence
I’ve been dragging alone and
This addicted gets worst
How could I stoop so low, so bad it hurts
All my friends have given up,
They say I’m a loser
It’s so hard
