Gamaliel Harvey Gooding was born in Grifton, North Carolina, October 15, 1942, to the late Reverend Charlie A. Gooding and the late Reverend Carrie A. Gooding. He is the third of five children, all boys. Deceased are Earl Gooding and Charlie Gooding, Jr., surviving are Curtis E. Gooding, Gamaliel H. Gooding and my brother Donald is now deceased.
Mr. Gooding’s immediate family consists of his wife of thirty-two years, Elvira and one son, Gamaliel Hasani. He is very thankful for the support he received from his wife and son.
He credits his writing skills to his mother, who taught him in the very early stages of his life, the importance of communication, verbal and written.
He feel that he was blessed to have been born to parents that were Ministers of the Gospel, they set the stage that would instill in him the importance of reading, understanding what he reads, being able to communicate verbally and in writing with a high degree of clarity.
Mr. Gooding later found what his parents, especially his mother taught him, allowed him to write about his own personal feelings and observations of people, places and things. The thorough teaching of the biblical Principles that he received from both parents, was the ultimate survival kit and road map that would guide him throughout his life.
He takes pride in his ability to articulate the art of poetry in a simplified form, thereby allowing everyone to read, comprehend and enjoy his works. Mr. Gooding has made every effort to deal with the reality of life, the good and
