Summer and Jade 2.jpgChapter 1
Summer Was Born
On a beautiful summer day in June, in the city of Osha, Piper and Todd Wasik gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They named her Summer, because looking at her brought warm feelings to their hearts. Piper and Todd had been married for ten years and had wanted a baby for eight years before they had Summer. The whole city had been praying for them to have a baby because they knew how much the kind couple wanted a child. Piper and Todd went out of their way to help anyone who needed help. Piper was known as the best babysitter in the city of Osha. The people of Osha were so happy that their prayers had been answered.
Summer was a very beautiful baby. Everyone who saw her fell in love with her. Summer’s parents did not have any problem getting babysitters for their daughter. Almost everyone who could babysit in Osha volunteered to take care of Summer. There was a waiting list every day of the year, for a whole year for volunteer babysitters. This was partly due to the fact that Piper never let Summer out of her sight. Very few people were allowed the privilege of holding her.
