CHAPTER 1

EXPRESSIONS

Predicting My Future

THOU MADEST HIM to have dominion over the works of thy hands.

I know that my faith in God determines my future. My faith in God means my faith in all things good. I unite myself now with true ideas, and I know the future will be in the image and likeness of my habitual thinking. As a man thinks in his heart so is he." From this moment forward my thoughts are on:

Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are lovely, and of good report; day and night I meditate on these things, and I know these seeds (thoughts) which I habitually dwell upon will become a rich harvest for me. I am the captain of my own soul; I am the master of my fate; for my thought and feeling are my destiny.

My Destiny

I know that I mould, fashion, and create my own destiny. My faith in God is my destiny; this means an abiding faith in all things good. I live in the joyous expectancy of the best; only the best comes to me. I know the harvest I will reap in the future, because all of my thoughts are Gods thoughts, and God is with my thoughts of good. My thoughts are the seeds of goodness, true, and beauty. I now place my thoughts of love, peace, joy, success, and goodwill in the garden of my mind. This is Gods garden, and it will yield an abundant harvest. The glory and beauty of God will be expressed in my life. From this moment forward, I express life, love, and truth. I am radiantly happy and prosperous in all ways. Thank you Father.

Constructive Imagination

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me do and the God of peace shall be with you.

My mind is God’s Mind, and my thoughts are God’s thoughts. This is how I use my imagination daily. I constantly meditate on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, lovely, and of good report; my imagination is the workshop of God at all times. I imagine only peace, harmony, health, wealth, perfect expression, and love. I reject everything unlike God or perfection.

Today I claim my true place in the Kingdom of God. I make it a daily practice to seek first the Kingdom of God within me; then I know that all good things shall be added to me. All of my faith is in God and the good. God’s Love is supreme in me, and casts out all fear. I am at peace. I thank you, Father.

The Balanced Mind

Though wilt keep him the perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusted in thee. I know that the inner desires of my heart come from God within me. God wants me to be happy. The will of God for me is life, love, truth, and beauty. I mentally accept my good now, and I become a perfect, free, flowing channel for the Divine.

I come into His Presence singing; I enter into His courts with praise; I am joyful and happy; I am still and poised.

The Still Small Voice whispers in my ear revealing to me my perfect answer. I am an expression of God. I am always in my true place doing the things I love to do. I refuse to accept the opinions of man as truth. I now turn within, and I sense and feel the rhythm of the Divine. I hear the melody of God whispering its message of love to me.

My mind is Gods mind, and I am always reflecting Divine wisdom and Divine intelligence. My grain symbolized the Christ capacity to think wisely and spiritually. God’s ideas unfold within my mind with perfect sequence. I am always posed, balanced, serene, and calm; for I know that God will always reveal to me the perfect solution to all of my needs.

The Creative Word

Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. My creative word is my silent conviction that my prayer is answered. When I speak the word for healing, success, or prosperity, my word is spoken in the consciousness of Life and Power, knowing that it is done. My word has power, because it is one with Omnipotence. The words I speak are always constructive and creative. When I pray, my words are full of life, love, and feeling; this makes my affirmations, thoughts, and words creative. I know the greater my faith behind the word spoken, the more power it has. The words I use form a definite mold, which determine what form my thought is to take. Divine Intelligence operates through me now, and reveals to me what I need to know. I have the answer now. I am at peace. God is Peace.

The Answered Prayer

Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

When I pray, I call on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; the Father is my own consciousness; the Son is my desire; the Holy Ghost is the feeling of being what I want to be.

I now take my attention away from the problem, whatever it may be.

My mind and heart are open to the influx from on High.

I know the Kingdom of God is within me. I sense, feel, understand, and know that my own life, my awareness of being, my own I Am ness, is the Living Spirit Almighty. I now turn in recognition to this One Who Forever Is; the Light of God illumines my pathway; I am Divinely inspired and governed in all ways.

Now I begin to pray scientifically in order to bring my desire into manifestation by claiming and feeling myself to be and to have what I long to be and to have. I walk in the inner silent knowing of the soul, because I know my prayer is already answered, as I feel the reality of it in my heart. Thank you, Father; it is done!

Divine Answer

I know that the answer to my problem lies in the God-Self within me. Now get quiet, still, and relaxed. I am at peace. I know God speaks in peace and not in confusion. I am now in tune with the Infinite; I know and believe implicitly that Infinite Intelligence is revealing to me the perfect answer. I think about the solution to my problems. I now live in the mood I would have were my problem solved. I truly live in this abiding faith and trust, which is the mood of the solution; this is the spirit of God moving within me. This Spirit is Omnipotent; it is manifesting itself; my whole being rejoices in the solutions; I am glad. I live in this feeling, and give thanks.

I know that God has the answer. With God all things are possible.

God is the Living Spirit Almighty within me; He is the source of all wisdom and illumination.

The indicator of the Presence of God within me is a sense of peace and poise. I now cease all sense of strain and struggle; I trust the God-Power implicitly. I know that all the Wisdom and Power I need to live a glorious and successful life are within me. I relax my entire body; I cast all burdens on the Christ; I go free. I claim and feel the Peace of God flooding my mind, heart, and whole being. I know the quiet mind gets its problems solved. I now turn the request over to the God-Presence knowing it has an answer. I am at peace.

Divine Guidance

I now dwell on the Omnipresence and Omni action of God. I know that this Infinite Wisdom guides the planets on their source. I know this same Divine Intelligence governs and directs all of my affairs. I claim and believe Divine understanding is mine at all times. I know that all of my activities are controlled by this indwelling Presence. All of my motives are God-like and true. I am expressing God’s wisdom, truth, and beauty at all times. The All-Knowing One within me knows what to do, and how to do it. My business or profession is completely controlled, governed, and directed by the love of God. Divine guidance is mine. I know God’s answer, for my mind is at peace. I rest in the Everlasting Arms.

Right Action

I radiate goodwill to all mankind in thought, word, and deed. I know the peace and goodwill that I radiate to my fellowman come back to me a thousand fold. Whatever I need to know comes to me from the God-Self within me. Infinite Intelligence is operating through me revealing to me what I need to know. God in me knows only the answer. The perfect answer is made known to me now. Infinite Intelligence and Divine Wisdom make all decisions through me, and there is only right action and right expression taking place in my life. Every night I wrap myself in the Mantle of God’s Love, and fall asleep knowing Divine Guidance is mine. When the dawn comes, I am filled with peace. I go forth into the new day full of faith, confidence, and trust. Thank you, Father.

The Resurrection of my Desire

My desire for health, harmony, peace, abundance, and security is the voice of God speaking to me. I definitely choose to be happy and successful. I am guided in all ways. I open my mind and heart to the influx of the Holy Spirit; I am at peace. I draw successful and happy people into my experience. I recognize only the Presence and Power of God within me.

The Light of God shines through me and from me into everything about me. The emanation of God’s Love flows from me; it is a healing radiance unto everyone who comes into my Presence.

I now assume the feeling of being what I want to be. I know that the way to resurrect my desire is to remain faithful to my ideal, knowing that an Almighty Power is working in my behalf. I live in this mood of faith and confidence; I give thanks that it is done; for it is established in God, and all is well.

Achieving My Goal

"In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will make plain thy path.

My knowledge of God and the way He works is growing by leaps and bounds. I control and direct all of my emotions along peaceful, constructive channels. Divine Love fills all of my thoughts, words, and actions. My mind is at peace; I am at peace with my fellowman. I am always relaxed and at ease. I know that I am here to express God fully in all ways. I believe implicitly in the guidance of the Holy Spirit within. This Infinite Intelligence within me now reveals to me the perfect plan of expression; I move toward it confidently and joyously. The goal and the objective that I have in my mind are good and very good. I have definitely planted in my mind the way of fulfillment. The Almighty Power now moves in my behalf; He is a Light on my path.

Business Problems

I know and believe my business is God’s business; God is my partner in all of my affairs; to me this means His light, love, truth, and inspiration fill my mind and heart in all ways. I solve all of my problems by placing my complete trust in the Divine Power within me. I know that this Presence sustains everything. I now rest in security and peace. This day perfect understanding surrounds me; there is a Divine solution to all of my problems. I definitely understand everyone; I am understood. I know that all of my business relationships are in accord with the Divine Law of Harmony. Christ indwells all of my customers and clients. I work harmoniously with others to the end that happiness, prosperity, and peace reign supreme.

Principle in Business

My business is God’s business. I am always about my Father’s business, which is to radiate Life, Love, and Truth to all mankind. I am expressing myself fully now; I am giving of my talents in a wonderful way. Am Divinely compensated.

God is prospering my business, profession, or activity in a wonderful way. I claim that all of those in my organization are spiritual links in its growth, welfare, and prosperity; I know this, believe it, and rejoice that it is so. All of those connected with me are Divinely prospered and illumined by the light.

The Light that lightest every man that cometh into the world leads and guides me in all ways. Divine Wisdom controls all of my decisions. Infinite Intelligence reveals better ways in which I can serve humanity. I rest in the Lord forever.

How to Solve your Problems

What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. I know that a problem has its solution within it in the form of a desire. The realization of my desire is good and very good. I know and believe that the creative Power within me has the absolute Power to bring forth that which I deeply desire. The Principle, which gave me the desire, is the Principle, which gives it birth. There is absolutely no argument in my mind about this.

I now ride the white horse, which is the spirit of God moving upon the waters of my mind. I take my attention away from the problem, and dwell upon the reality of the fulfilled desire. I am using the Law now. I assume the feeling that my prayer is answered. I make it real by feeling the reality of it. In Him I live, move, and have my being; I live in this feeling, and give thanks.

CHAPTER 2

HOW INFINITE POWER CAN GIVE YOU AN EXCITING, RICH, NEW LIFE

This book is designed to teach you about the Infinite Power within you, which can lift you up from the midst of sickness, melancholia, failure, and frustration, and set you on the road to health, happiness, abundance, and security. I have seen miraculous transformations take place in men and women of all walks of life all over the world when they began contacting and releasing this Infinite Power within themselves.

Several months ago I spent two hours in a hospital talking with an alcoholic in the depths of despair. He began to use this Power and, as a result, is now strong, vital, and happy, and is operating a prosperous business. Like Paul in the Bible, he was changed in the twinkling of an eye, and the Infinite Healing Power began to flow through him. His problems melted, peace came into his troubled mind, and he is back again with his wife and children.

This Infinite Power is positively, definitely, and absolutely waiting within you to be released. This Power is able to transform your life so completely, so radically, and so marvelously that after a few short weeks or months, it is possible that your close friends may not recognize you.

This mysterious Infinite Power can cause miracles for you, too. As you peruse this and the following chapters, you will realize that you can direct the flow of this Power so that you can receive new ideas worth a fortune. All that is necessary is to have an open mind and a desire to lead a full, happy, exciting, and abundant life.

How This Infinite Power Can Work Wonders in Your Life

Why is it that some people are happy, successful, and prosperous, while others are poor and miserable? Why is it that some people are full of faith and confidence and live in the joyous expectancy of the best, acquiring riches and constantly rising on the ladder of success, while others are fearful, worried, depressed, and have become tragic failures in life? Why does one brother live in a beautiful mansion, while the other spends his life in a shabby tenement house unable to make ends meet?

The reason for the difference is that those who are leading exciting, adventurous, creative, and successful lives have been making use of the Infinite Power that makes the difference. For it is the use of this Mystic Power that brings to you all the vitality, prosperity, joy, and riches you need.

What this Wonder-working Power has done for others

This books shows you how men and women of all walks of life have found Miraculous Healing for so-called incurable conditions, solutions to acute business problems, harmony in family relationships, methods by which to avert tragedies, and the use of clairaudient to save a man’s life. These people have discovered how precognition made a fortune for a man, how tranquility and serenity replaced a mind in turmoil, how to attract the ideal Life Partner, how a mental movie attracted a million dollars, and how to turn failure into success.

How a Mental Picture Produced a Million Dollars

I had a conversation at the Palm Springs Spa Hotel with a man from San Pedro who told me that at forty, his life was one of disappointment, failure, depression and disillusionment. He had attended a lecture on The Miracle of the Mind, given in San Pedro by the late Dr. Harry Gaze, world traveler and lecturer.

He said that after hearing that lecture he began to believe in himself and his inner powers. Always he had wanted to own and operate a movie theatre, but he had consistently failed at everything and had no money. He began with this affirmation: I know I can succeed, and I will own and operate a theatre.

He told me that today he is worth $5 million and owns two theatres.

He achieved success over supposedly insurmountable odds. His subconscious mind knew that he was sincere and that he meant to succeed.

It knows your inner motivation and your real conviction. The Bible says:

Thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee . . . . (Job 22:28).

This man’s magic formula for success was the mental picture he carried and to which he remained faithful, and his subconscious mind revealed to him everything necessary for the unfoldment of his dream.

Forgiveness is Necessary for Healing

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye ought against any . . . Mark 11:25.

Forgiveness of others is essential to mental peace and radiant health.

You must forgive everyone who has ever hurt you if you want perfect health and happiness. Forgive yourself by letting your thoughts in harmony with divine law and order. You cannot really forgive yourself completely until you have forgiven others first. To refuse to forgive you is nothing more or less than spiritual pride or ignorance.

In the psychosomatic field of medicine today, it is being constantly stressed that resentment, condemnation of others, remorse, and hostility are behind a host of maladies ranging from arthritis to cardiac disease. They point out that these sick people, who were hurt, mistreated, deceived, or injured, were full of resentment and hatred for those who hurt them. This caused inflamed and festering wounds in their subconscious minds. There is only one remedy. They have to cut out and discard their hurts and the one and only sure way is by forgiveness.

Forgiveness is Love in Action

The essential ingredient in the art of forgiveness is the willingness to forgive. If you sincerely desire to forgive the other, you are fifty-one percent over the hurdle. I feel sure you know that to forgive the other does not necessarily mean that you like him or want to associate with him. You cannot be compelled to like someone, neither can a government legislate good will, love, peace, or tolerance. It is quite impossible to like people because someone in Washington issues an edict to that effect. We can, however, love people without liking them.

The Bible says, Love ye one another. This, anyone can do who really wants to do it. Love means that you wish for the other health, happiness, peace, joy, and all the blessings of life. There is only one prerequisite, and that is sincerity. You are not being magnanimous when you forgive, you are really being selfish, because what you wish for the other, you are actually wishing for yourself. The reason is that you are thinking it and you are feeling it. As you think and feel, so are you. Could anything be simpler than that?

Learn the Mental and Spiritual Laws of Life

More importantly, to love your enemies means to banish from your mind your fears, hates, jealousies, angers and resentments, all of which are self-created, for these are your real enemies. If these negative emotions dominate and control your mind, you can be absolutely sure to experience the result in your body, your home, your business and your relationship with others. This is the mental and spiritual law operating in all men and women throughout the world, regardless of their religious affiliations and nominal beliefs. Hunters tell us that animals pick up the scent of fear and will attack you.

In consultation with a woman today as I write this chapter, she admitted that she had lived in constant fear that her home would be robbed. While she was at church one Sunday, thieves pulled a truck up in front of her house and carried away all the expensive furnishings in her home. They cleaned her out.

Her constant fear, morning, noon and night, had been the real thief, and her subconscious had brought it to pass. The law is impersonal and no respecter of persons. She is now using the great Psalm of protection, which is the 91st Psalm,¹* and will build up an immunity to all harm.

Let all the thoughts in your mind are harmonious, peaceful, loving and based on faith in God and the goodness of God in the land of the living. Let your trust and reliance be in God, the Source of all blessings

When your thoughts are God’s thoughts, God’s power is with your thoughts of good.

Of the soul the body form doth take, for soul is form and doth the body make.

Cleanse Your Mind

Before you meditate spiritually, forgive yourself completely for any negative thoughts and resolve not to harbor them again. Furthermore, forgive everybody else by radiating love and goodwill to him or her while wishing for them all the blessings of life. You will always know when you have forgiven everyone, because you can meet him or her in your mind and you no longer sizzle; you are at peace. You would not pour clean water into a dirty vessel. The vessel is your mind. You don’t expect the Holy Spirit to flow through a contaminated mind. Resentment, self-condemnation, hostility and ill will block the flow of good into your life. Meditate the right way. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any . . . (Mark 11: 25).

How to Get Along With Others

One of the chief reasons some men and women do not get ahead in life is their inability to get along with others. They seem to rub others the wrong way. Often their attitude of pomposity is tactless and offensive. The best way to get along with others is to salute the Divinity in the other person and to realize that every man and woman is an epitome or example of the entire human race. Every person who walks the earth is a son or daughter of the Living god; and when we respect and honor the divinity within ourselves, we will automatically revere and honor the divine Presence in the other person.

How an Actress Triumphed Over Failure

A young actress came to see me, complaining bitterly about stage fright and panic during auditions and screen tests. She had failed, she said, to make the grade three times; she prolonged her doleful complaints into a lengthy jeremiad.

I discovered quickly that her real trouble was that she had a mental picture of panic before the camera, and like Job of old, she was dooming herself to failure: The thing, which I greatly feared, is come upon me . . . (Job 3:25).

How She Gained Confidence and Poise

I taught this actress the workings of her conscious and subconscious mind, and she began to realize that as she gave attention to constructive thoughts, she would automatically bring into her experience the benefits accruing from the thoughts dwelt upon. She devised a plan of her own for straight line thinking, knowing that there is a law of mind which responds to what you decree yourself to be, provided, of course, you believe what you claim to be true about yourself. For example, the more frequently you affirm to yourself, I am afraid, the more fear you will generate. On the other hand, the more frequently you affirm, I am full of faith and confidence, the more confidence and self-assurance you will develop.

I suggested she type thought-lifters on a card as follows:

"I am full of peace, poise, balance and equilibrium. I fear no evil for God is with me.

I am always serene, calm, relaxed and at ease.

I am full of faith and confidence in the only power there is—God. I am born to win, succeed and triumph.

I am successful in all my undertakings.

I am a marvelous actress and am immensely successful.

I am loving, harmonious, peaceful and feel my oneness with God."

She carried this index card with her. On trains, airplanes, and at frequent intervals during the day, she focused her mind on these truths. Actually, she committed them to memory after three or four days. As she reiterated these truths, they sank down into her subconscious mind and she discovered that these affirmations containing wonderful spiritual vibrations neutralized the noxious patterns of fear, doubt and inadequacy in her subconscious mind. She became poised, serene, calm and full of self-confidence. She had discovered the cosmic power for perfect living.

How Her Mental Movie Worked a Miracle

She practiced the following technique for about five or six minutes morning, afternoon and night: She relaxed her body, sat quietly in a chair, and began to imagine that she was before the camera—poised, serene, calm and relaxed. She visualized herself as completely successful and imagined hearing congratulatory comments by the author and by her agent. She dramatized the role as only a good actress can, and made it very real and vivid. She realized that the Cosmic Power that moves the world also moves through the mental picture in her mind, compelling her to give marvelous renditions.

A few weeks later, her agent got another screen test for her, and she was so enthusiastic and exhilarated with the idea of triumph that she gave a wonderful performance. Today, with success following success, she is well on her way to becoming a great star.

How to Cope with Seeming Worldly Injustice

During a visit to Hawaii, a junior executive said to me, There is no justice in the world. Everything is so unfair. Corporations are soulless; they have no heart, I worked hard and spend long hours after closing time, but men under me are promoted and I am passed up. Its all so unfair and unjust.

My explanation was the cure for this mans wrath. I acknowledged that there is injustice in the world and that, as Robert Burns said, Mans inhumanity to man makes countless thousands mourn, but that the law of the subconscious mind* is impersonal and eminently fair at all times.

Your subconscious mind accepts the impress of your thought and reacts accordingly. It’s the set of the sails, and not the gales that determines the way you go. It is your inner thought, feeling, and imagery—in other words, your mental attitude operating within you, rather than the winds of negative thoughts and the waves of fear from without, that makes the different between promotion and success, and failure and loss. The law is absolutely just and mathematically accurate, and your experiences are the exact reproduction of your habitual thinking and imagery.

I briefly explained to the young executive the familiar story of the laborers in the vineyard, where all the workmen received the same wages as those who worked all day long; also the men who came in at the third hour, the sixth hour, and the ninth hour received the same wages. When they saw that the men who had worked but one hour got the same wages, they were jealous and angry, but the answer they received was this: Didst not thou agree with me for a penny? (Matt.20: 13).

The law is plainly stated in Matt. 18:19: . . . If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my father which is in heaven. This means that when your conscious and subconscious mind agree on promotion, success, abundance, and right action, the law of your subconscious mind will honor, execute, and bring it to fruition in your experience.

I added, You are resentful, angry, and full of condemnation and criticism of the organization which employs you. These negative suggestions enter your subconscious and have resulted in loss of promotion, financial increase, and prestige.

A Specific Program and Formula for Daily Use

I gave him the following mental and spiritual formula to practice daily:

"I know that the laws of my mind are absolutely just, and that whatever I impress on my subconscious mind is reproduced mathematically and accurately in my physical world and circumstances. I know that I am using a principle of mind, and a principle are absolutely impersonal. I am equal before the laws of mind, which means it is done unto me, as I believe. I know that justice means fairness, rightfulness, and impartiality, and I know that my subconscious is absolutely impersonal and impartial.

I realize that I have been angry, resentful, and jealous, and that I have also demeaned, criticized, and condemned myself. I have physically persecuted, assailed, and tortured myself, and I know that the law is as within, so without"; therefore, my boss and associates attest to and confirm objectively what I have thought and felt subjectively.

"What I accept completely in my mind, I will get in my experience, regardless of conditions, circumstances, or the powers that be. I wish success, prosperity, and promotion for all my associates, and I exude
