Adamantly Myself: A Collection of Poems
Author

Juan Ella Fontenot

A free lance writer and poet, Ms Fontenot has her work published on Poetry.com and Wisp e-zine, and her poetry has been enjoyed by multitudes of online bloggers. Her writings are a reflection of her life experiences and the deep feelings, thoughts, and emotions that these have left in her heart. Her poetry is a window to her soul where passion, love, pain, victimization, disappointments, and happiness coexist. As you read her words, they will breathe with the fires of her heart and they will guide you into a world of beautiful romance, sensuality, intimacy, controlled anger, forgiveness and hope. Although she writes from the depths of her heart, there is also great intelligence and wisdom in her words. Ramon A. Laval, Ph. D. JuanElla is a beautiful soul, that I am so glad I was able to meet. Her work is, without a doubt, the most "sensitive" I have read in a while. It takes someone with a lot of HEART to put that out there! She is extremely courageous, and warm. I am proud to call her friend. Diane Itani

I dedicate this book to my wonderful son, Chip, my beautiful daughter, Laurie Beth, and my FUNtastic little grandson, Michael. Whenever I questioned my reason for being here, I look at them, and suddenly I know why.

I thank my Dad, Harrison Fontenot, for giving me his creativity, strength, and resilience. I thank my Mom, Juanita for giving me conscience, sensitivity, and compassion.

I want to give special thanks to those friends who have always been there for me. They encouraged me to ‘exercise’ my writes! Special thanks to Vicki, Diane, Pat (my sister-in-law), Barry, Shyam and Ramon for their help.

I want to thank all of my friends on Yahoo 360, especially Bonnie, JuJu, Beth, Cris, David, Frank, Hilde, James of JT-Images, Jim, Jodee, Karin, Paul, Rick K. (AKA: Wingman), Robert, Todd, Joanie, Victor, Lisa, Cammie, Trisha, Lynn, Destiny, Marla, Nez, Jennifer, and all the others who helped to keep me sane when we were fighting for Michael.

    A BLANK WALL

    A blank wall

    a dark hall,

    Feeling my way,

    through the day.

    I cleaned my house

    for you to come

    then just like that

    you were gone.

    I locked the doors

There were tracks on the floor

    I missed a spot

    In time I forgot.

    I wanted you here

    I wanted you near

    Did the phone just ring,

    messing up everything?

    Was there a call?

    A note on the wall?

    A message in a bottle?

    A memory to coddle?

    It’s time to get real

    Second chances won’t heal

    all the old scars

    coming from afar.

    Be fixed and ready

    Be strong and steady

    Lock your door

    Go back no more.

    A CADAVER

I am nothing, but a corpse.

    Because you were my soul.

    And you left my body

    In your quest for gold

    Now here I lie

    A cadaver alone

With no motion and no notion

    Of how to go on.

    Place a wreath on the
