Dedication
To my amazing wife, Christine and my dearly beloved children and grandchildren: Tom, Becky, Katie, Lewis, Summer and Bella.
Without your support and patience, I would be nothing.
To my long-departed but never-forgotten mother, Wendy.
You were a huge source of inspiration throughout my childhood. Mother. Artist. Role model. Friend.
To my father, Roy. Thank you for your love and admiration.
Introduction
This collection of poems owes a great deal to my teenage self. He found this period of his life challenging. There was much it seems to be unhappy about – he had a deep and profound yearning for something different, something new – something he couldn’t describe but which he wanted so desperately to come.

Since my youth I have been lucky enough to experience the positive impacts of time, age, maturity, friendship, marriage, love and parenthood. I am a completely different person now. I do not judge my teenage self. I acknowledge that he was there, indeed he was a big part of my life. But as a husband and a father, with love and happiness in my heart, I have moved forward from that challenging
