About this ebook
Rachel Ford
My name is Rachel Diane Ford, born in Greenville, South Carolina on September 7, 1953. My parents moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when I was 2 years old. I am the third of seven children and a proud single parent of a son and daughter. I graduated in 1971 from William Penn High School and attended Community College. In 1998, I took a course at Temple University for creative writing. I realized my love for writing in 1999. I began sharing my thoughts and my motivation accelerated, but working full time hindered me. However, to my amazement in 2003, I did a name writing for a very dear friend and realized my blessings extended. Doing name writings is also a passion of mine that I intend to pursue. My family and friends continually encourage and support me and my dream to publish a book of Poetry.

Conscious Mass - Rachel Ford
UNION
WE COMMITTED TO EACH OTHER, NOT IN GOD’S HOUSE OF STONE, BUT IN OUR HEARTS WHERE NO ONE EXCEPT HE CAN SEE OR JUDGE US FOR WHAT IS DONE. VOWS WERE NOT REPEATED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A PRIEST, INSTEAD WE WILLINGLY GIVE OF OURSELVES OUT OF LOVE, FREE OF RINGS TO SIGNIFY THE COMPLETION OF THIS RELATIONSHIP THAT IS NOT IDYLLIC. YET IT IS SO EXCEPTIONAL WE FAVOR TO LET NO MAN PUT ASUNDER,
THAT WHICH IS THE ESSENCE OF DEVOTION, RESPECT AND WILLINGNESS TO LEARN FROM EACH OTHER, EVIDENT FROM KNOWING WHO WE ARE. PRODUCING TIME EXHAUSTED NOT WASTED PROBING FOR ANSWERS TO IMPERFECTIONS, REALIZING THE CONCEPT OF GIVE AND TAKE ARE NOT TO BE PRECISE, BUT VALUED FOR WHAT IT IS. A UNION NOT PROMISED JUST APPRECIATED DAY BY DAY.
LOVE IS NOT BLIND,
IT’S THE CHOICES WE
MAKE BASED ON
EMOTIONS vs. OUR MIND
AN INTODUCTION TO THE FAMILY OF HAVOC
LIFE’S THORN
Depression is his mother. His father is Despair.
The youngest brother Erratic, who distorts and dares
and Armageddon, his sister who finds pleasure in pain,
all admire their brother Terror, who’s always lying in wait
moreover, is Havoc the eldest, who never seems to rest
They all come together enforcing our punishment called Death.
CONFUSED
We’re born and denied
We admit and lie
We are together and apart
We have and rely
We are kind and unforgiving
We love and hate
We are happy and sad
We work and play
We are rich and poor
We laugh and cry
We are creative and destructive
We submit and defy
We are you and I living confused lives.
REGRET
I married the one I love unconditionally
I made vows promising we would always be
I cheated on the one that meant the world to me
I abandoned the one I love in search of false needs
Now my life is unfulfilled and my pain is deep
I see my love and become unbearably weak
I imagine the kiss that has a sting of bliss
I fantasize about our intimacy, reminded of what I miss
Now I wish and pray for the strength to let go, but
my passion and desire has become my undefeated foe
I truly believed we would
