Out of the Mouths of Babes: Songs and Poems About Me
()
About this ebook
The early childhood years are filled with excitement. By following daily routines, children learn the parts of their body and how to take care of them. By interacting with other children and family members, they learn the importance of friendship. Reading about or visiting a farm, zoo, or aquarium, helps children learn about other living things in their world.
From music teacher and world-renowned educator Dr. Ren Boyer, Out of the Mouths of Babes provides a view of the childs experience as it is expressed through song and poetry. While the lyrics of the songs reflect a contemporary view of early childhood years, many of the melodies chosen are already known and loved by people around the globe.
This book is especially handy for early childhood caregivers, teachers, parents, and grandparents who want to laugh with their little ones. Children and adults alike will giggle as they experience unique insights into a childs world. Through the written word and song, Out of the Mouths of Babes provides an amusing glimpse into what children think and do.

CHILD AT PLAY
74210.pngFirst I rise and brush my teeth.
Then I wash my face.
After breakfast, nice and hot,
I open my toy case.
I pull out all my dinosaurs,
My train, my cars, my cape.
I put my knight in his castle grand
Along with Lion and Ape.
I growl fiercely. I’m a lion
In a jungle green,
Prowling, scratching, roaring
While listening to monkeys scream!
I go outside and play a while.
I look at everything;
The rocks, the leaves, the sky so blue.
Then finally in my swing,
I push myself through wondrous worlds
Of pizza and ice cream.

My rocking horse is awesome!
He takes me everywhere.
I just have to get on top,
So I climb up on my chair.
I close my eyes and imagine
Places I wish to see,
Like Dinosaur Island and Candy Land
And a pirate’s ship at sea.
With reins in hand and feet in place
And a bag of carrot sticks,
I say the words, Giddy-up, giddy-up!
Then, away we go on our trip!
Sometimes I make him go so fast,
It really tires me out.
But once there, I can truly say,
It was worth it, without a doubt.
I feed my horse bananas,
Sometimes potato chips,
If I have my
