About this ebook

“Black America, Not in This America” is the foundation for ushering in a new era of Black Society. One built upon hope and inspiration instead of despair and hatred. My own narrated life story coincides with and sheds contemporary, light upon the trials and tribulations, as well the dreams and aspirations of the Black community as a whole. It contains the blueprint for the resurrection of the Black American population. That brings forth and lays bare the many silent epidemics facing America. Ignorance, crime, drugs, black on black crime, lack of positive role models, lack of education, hope and will power.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to the people of Black America for giving me daily support, without which this book would have been impossible. My greatest debt however is to all of those who volunteered to proofread every word of every version of the manuscript and providing insightful comments along the way.

In addition, I would like to dedicate this book to my family: Deneshia, Kimelia, Phyllis, Lynnett, Jacquelyn, Kariah, Ronald, Thomas, Samuel, Michael, and to my parents, Phillip and Evelyn, who have provided both financial support and guidance, which will keep me heavily in their debt.

    INTRODUCTION

B LACK AMERICA, NOT In This America was written for Black America as a blueprint. It is what one can call Black America’s book of steel for the people of steel. It is one of many writings of mine dealing with Black America within America. My purpose is to get all of Black America to understand the black experiences in this America, hoping that this book will help encourage Black America to continue the fight in this unstable America.

Black America, Not In This America is the foundation for understanding the history of Black America, opening their eyes to the very fact that we don’t have to go back four hundred years, because majority of our problems are happening in this day and time (not four hundred years ago). It shows them that there will always be two Americas, one white and the other black. It encourages Black America to see that they can and must turn things around in order for their America to survive, as well as understand the struggles that are within Black America, the ones that we have and had to endure in the past and for those that continue today, such as those that have been holding Black Americans back mentally: the being against ourselves, the injustice, and the belief that this is the white man’s America.

This book was written to encourage Black America not to be distracted by the things of this America that affect them, like the killings of our citizens of Black America, the high incarceration rate of our America, and the HIV/AIDS epidemic that is spreading silently through our America. It was written to help Black America live out their true means of existence.

The Reverend Jesse Jackson said it best, Black America must demand their respect and justice in this America. That’s what Black America, Not In This America is all about, telling Black America that they must find and demand their respect within themselves and from this America. I want them not to fall into the way of thinking that this America is out to get them or set them up. I want Black Americans to know that every moment and every step of life becomes a situation of right or wrong and that they must choose between one.

You see, Black America, it’s not White America, Latin America, or America’s concern whether you succeed or not; and as you will see in this book, there are many of our kind that have stamped an imprint of success for us in this America.

This book says that we as Black Americans must come up with a solution to all of our problems, especially the ones that hold us back. It says that we must understand that our problems are not permanent but correctable. It also says that we are able to search within ourselves for that blueprint of problem solving and use it wisely, never looking for White America to solve or assist us with our problems. If our problems are to be solved, Black Americans are going to have to be the ones to solve them.

This book is for those who love Black America and wish for justice for Black America and for those who recognize how far we have yet to go. This book lays bare how far Black America as a society has come since the wicked days of White America. It also shows that we as a race have caused a lot of damage to ourselves and to our America.

This book says that even though we live in a disposable era, where many of us are opposed to the very idea of change, we must become agents of change. I want Black Americans to open their eyes, clear their minds, and take action to create a better Black America within America. I want this book to push them to continue the fight for those who lost opportunities in this unstable America.

A wise man once said that we can’t change or repair the past. My reply was that I’m not trying to change or repair the past. Trying to change the past is impossible, and that is a fact. However, it’s the mental past that I want Black America to change, the one that stagnates our motivation and progress for that change that I’m talking about in this book, which has nothing to do with changing or repairing the past.

Black America, this book is about us removing the physical and mental chains that have enslaved us. The removal of these chains could be a difficult task but not an impossible task for Black America, and that’s why I wrote Black America, Not In This America, to encourage them to believe in themselves, no matter what treatment that is inflicted upon us. It was written for the people of steel Black America.

So, Black America, we must stop trying to repair the past or even hold on to it, remembering that we are our only hope and answer to Black America’s problems. This book shows that our fight and journey was a long and difficult one. It shows that in the wake of all of that mistreatment that I wrote about, we as a race can make it and that Black America stood up to White America, to fight for what was rightly theirs: equal opportunities, respect, to be treated as a human being, to be able to use the titles Mr. and Ms., and also to be able to vote and make their contributions in this America (an America that judged them by the color of their skin, an America that did not accept them or look at them as equal).

I say to you, Black America, now is the time to emancipate ourselves from that mental slavery, to break free from those chains and those circumstances that I discuss in this book, to raise ourselves up out of the darkness of the racial discrimination that I bring to surface.

In this book you will see the brutality that we had and have to endure from those who are chosen to protect us. You will see the injustice, as well as see that we are capable of making it, regardless of what they say (White America/Black America), as long we continue to give our best effort.

Black America, this book lays bare and shows Black America that our suffering isn’t new. It is a book that in each chapter, one can use to strengthen their beliefs and faith. It is a book that has allowed me to embrace my America, as well as see them differently. With the encounter of Black America, I was looking for a way to enlighten and help them make better decisions, change one might call it. That was my main concern, not just racially, but to try and make Black America a better place to live and for my people to leave Black America in a better position than they found it.

I wrote it asking the people to live with the very people that devalued them, to live in a world that’s unstable and so judgmental toward them. By showing them that even though we struggle with each other every day, we are still going to have to coexist with each other, no matter what, building a better America and pledging allegiance under unity.

Black America, this book says that the struggle will continue. It also says that we must not substitute our equality or freedom and that we must acknowledge the conditions of Black America within America, realizing that America’s only concern is saving America, not changing it.

Black America, Not In This America is the real story of Black America. It shows Black America why it is so important that we understand our existence. It gives new life to Black America through new insight. Black America, Not In This America is the blueprint for the new movement of this era. It helps Black Americans acknowledge the struggles that Black America had to go through and are still going through today.

It shows Black America that the struggle was important for us as a race in the past, and it has a whole lot to do with our existence today, an existence that is very important to our history, black history! Because without our history, America cannot exist.

As I was writing about the struggles, I looked back at my struggles, and it makes me want to cry that we had to go through such mistreatment. But I’m grateful for all of the pain and suffering that our people endured as well as myself. I believe that the pain and suffering gave the people of steel life; it anchored them to America’s history. That struggle gave an unpopular race a place in America. It gave them, the unpopular race, an opportunity to survive.

Black America, Not In This America is full of facts and stories, which are guaranteed to fill a void as to the overall history, contributions, and effects, both good and bad, of blacks in America. It is the foundation for ushering in a new era of black society. One built upon hope and inspiration, instead of despair and hatred. My own narrated life story coincides with and sheds contemporary light upon trials and tribulations, as well as the dreams and aspirations of the black community as a whole.

Black America, this is one of the best books written for the black community within America. It contains the blueprint for the resurrection of the Black American population. This book brings forth and lays bare the many silent epidemics facing America: ignorance, crime, drugs, sex, lack of positive role models, lack of education, surplus of idols, lack of hope, and lack of willpower. These epidemics affect not only blacks but whites, Hispanics, and all others who live in this wonderful land of the United States of America—united, not divided.

Black America, Not In This America promotes hope and provides inspiration so that we all can avoid this self-destructive behavior, because without learning and growing, the black community within America will continue to stagnate and be its own worst enemy. This stagnation is evident in all demographic groups with America.

I hope that all who read Black America, Not In This America enjoy it and understand that life will throw you a curveball every now and then and that you must not allow those curveball factors to affect you. You embrace them and be thankful for the opportunity to be able to challenge those factors.

Thank you and I hope that Black America, Not In This America open your eyes to the mistreatment that we have encountered. I also hope that you enjoy this educational journey, a journey that you will not forget, I guarantee you.
