    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I am grateful for all of the support that I have received while writing this book. The constant encouragement and push throughout this process. As with any goal, it is the support of many that will lead to success. I thank my wife, my best friend, my queen, Jesseann for always being there to support me. Her love, motivation and encouragement always keep me on target. As the wise man Solomon once said He who finds a wife finds what is good, gaining favor from the LORD (Proverbs 18:22 CEB). I thank my children: Eddie Jr., Evan, and Jameka for making me a proud father and giving their support while accomplishing their goals.

I express my gratitude to my mother Lillie Robinson; my brother, Ulyess, Jr.; my sisters Brenda, Gailynn, Pamela, and Kimberlerine for always providing love and support. Thanks to my mother in law, Georgia Malone for her kindness and support.

I would like to thank Darryl Clark and his program listeners on Progressive News Weekly. He has supported each book, with live interviews, question and answer sessions with his listeners, and opportunities to be presented as a guest on his show with Dick Gregory. Thanks to the many organizations that sponsored and supported my book tours and provided opportunities for me to be in front of millions of people to share my message of hope. Thanks to the concerned people that I have made contact with, while preparing this book. The multicultural impact to see the beauty in everyone has been encouraging. The accomplishments of Black America is the result of all Americans and all of humanity working together for peace and harmony.

Above all, all praises to God, for making this book a reality. I am grateful.

    INTRODUCTION

Thank you, for showing interest in this book. This book was written to share the ideas and concepts that will move Black America forward. By looking deeper into what is actually taking place within Black America and exploring how to make progress in the midst of the perceived chaos and confusion, this book aims to move Black America forward.

Each chapter deals with real life issues and approaches each situation in a way that will develop a greater sense of personal responsibility for the achievement of Black people. The psychological concept that awareness brings change is an underlying premise of this book. In order to develop and support personal responsibility, an internal Locus of Control, this book promotes the idea that Black people are successful, based on the present success of Black people.

The Locus of Control is a philosophy that views the responsibility and result of an individual’s life as being controlled by the internal—the individual, or external—others. Internal Locus of Control means and maintains that the individual is responsible for their life. No one outside of the person is responsible for that person. Lou Holtz is quoted as saying Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it. Things will happen and have happened to Black America, this does not remove the justice that should follow morbid acts or subtle uncivilized gestures. Moving Black America forward must come from within, internal, to be sustainable. Whereas, this book will review some challenges, it has the overall theme of making Black America a great people, worthy
