Letter To YOU Reader
Dear Reader,
It has been brought to my attention that the content/contents of this book might be intense for some and down right obscene to others. I can probably guarantee that it is not blasphemous in any way, but I will not. I honor everyone’s religion and identity, and I am open to most world views and ideologies. What I cannot support, though, is genocide. I do not promote hate. I also do not support it. I value life on every level and do not regard the color of a person’s skin as one’s determined race. I regard our species as human, because scientifically that is what homosapiens are. Race is a societal construct. These are facts and you cannot accuse me of trying to sway your beliefs. This is not my mission. The only agenda I have is to give valid information on topics that are relative to my lived experience, as well as to yours.
I am here to speak my truth in a way that should provoke thought. The contents of THIS book should disturb your soul. It should make you wonder why and how you live your lives. I reference genocide in the U.S. repeatedly and will not apologize for that. I know trauma, and I have been marginalized in the U.S. I know poverty and have been displaced in the U.S. I know hunger and have gone without basic needs in the U.S. I have also tasted the bitter brunt of being at the bottom as well as a humbled version of success here. I have had an abundance of hurt and laughter. I have lost more than I have had to give and still I continue to extend a curious hand. I have met death and am still living life here, in the United States.
In this moment, with this book, you do not get to be the judge.
