Dedication
Dedicated to my family
whom I love dearly.
Dedicated to my Mom and Dad who worked
Teter Hill for years and whom I miss daily.
Dedicated to all the dreamers and treasure seekers for without hope and faith we would have nothing.
Chapter 1
Teter Hill
The summer days were long, hot, and dry. The days seemed even longer after having to work in the fields most of the day. During the summer there was little time for anything except field work. Mary Lou and Samantha used what time they had digging in the hillside named Teter Hill.
It must be here somewhere.
said Samantha.
I know,
said Mary Lou. We have searched this hill for the past six years and we have not found it yet. I’m beginning to wonder if we will ever find it.
Or if it really exists.
added Samantha.
The girls were searching for Mr. Teter’s treasure. The local story was that Mr. Teter was a hermit who had lived in a cave on Teter Hill. He was supposed to have lived there for twenty-four years by himself. Rumor was that he had been a miser and buried his money on the hill. Just exactly where, no one knew except Mr. Teter and he had died many years
