Castleman was born in a small country town in Oklahoma. As a child she lived on Teter Hill where her family farmed the land. After she grew up she joined the Army, became a teacher and a nurse. She currently practices as a Registered Nurse and is a member of the United States Army Reserve. She enjoys writing country and gospel songs and children stories.
