    CEMETERY CHILDREN

Long ago in the town of Kankakee, a woman gave birth to four girls, quadruplets, they were born sort of deformed, their eyes were white, like beams of light, these girls were very strange and quiet, and they never spoke a word nor laughed like other children. When the girls grew to about the age of ten; they did not play like other children and had to be home schooled. The girls spent most of the day staring at the sun, yet the sun did not burn their eyes at all, like it would if one of us tried to stare directly at the sun. They lived on a farm on Lowe Road, most of the town’s people were either afraid of them, or thought of them to be witches, and would often drive by and yell obscenities at them, from their vehicles. It got so bad for the widow that she could not even go into town anymore without the town’s folk harassing her, or throwing stones at her. The very people around her spread rumors that the devil himself had fathered these girls.

One day when the widow went to town to pick up some corn meal from the local feed store, she left the girls alone at home. When she was in town a red pickup truck with a few of the towns hell raising youths, stopped in front of her and said, hey we’re gonna go visit your little demons right now then they sped away shooting gravel at the widow. Immediately she hurried home, but it was too late. As the widow approached the entrance to her farmhouse, she saw no sign of the girls; usually they were visible in the front yard staring at the sun, or just wandering in the fields. She searched everywhere but could not locate the girls, then she looked out at the road in front of the house, there they were, she could see their lifeless bodies plastered to the road, hit obviously by an unknown vehicle, but the widow knew who it was. She began to cry out to God, and blamed him for their death; the widow claimed she would get revenge for her daughters. Some say the widow made a pact with the devil.

The girls were buried in the cemetery across from the farmhouse on the very same road. What a sad service it was, all four of them were buried right next to each other, four small plots, and so young too, not one person showed up to the funeral. The widow recited over their grave, don’t worry my children the ground will give you life one more time. Then the widow turned and walked away. The widow was never the same after that. One night the same three guys in the red pickup truck were heading home from a late night party and turned down Lowe Road to head for home. The men slowed down to observe the cemetery that the girls were buried in, one of the guys hung out the window and screamed, rest in pieces as they all laughed. Then all of a sudden, their truck died. The driver could not get it started. What caused it to die all of a sudden? Then a strange mist came out of the cemetery, that appeared like smoke coming out of the ground, the quadruplets ghosts could be seen hovering over the cemetery approaching the pick up truck, this time with red fiery eyes. The guys were spooked, they began to yell at the driver to start the vehicle, but it would not start. The girls were approaching the pickup truck, the occupants rolled up the windows in fear, and one of them jumped out of a window and made a run for it.

Three of the ghosts surrounded the truck and the other one followed the guy that made a run for it. The ghosts placed their hands on the truck, the ghost’s hands began to turn the color of the sun, immediately the truck began to heat up and melt. The tires blew and the guys in
