About this ebook

Book Review

The Bible warns us of the deceptions of Satan. He can transform himself into an Angel of light. That could be deceiving, if we weren't in the word of God. Only spiritual maturity and insight can protect us from Satan, the master of deceit.

You've been warned, is a biblical account of scripture with layman understanding. Author Henry Miranda, explains, in his point of view, what various scripture mean. This is a good read for those struggling with their faith, or have doubt the existence of God. Anyone can understand this book.

The reason I added the insert is because of my own personal belief in its truth. We go through our daily lives often never considering the beauty around us, or how it got there, but then neither do we consider the reason so many bad things happen. We may ask why and often blame God for our misfortune, when in reality its the master of deceit thats to blame. This author expresses his devotion to the living word and gets a big Kudos, but it needs a bit of editing.

    INTRODUCTION

Except for God who is eternal, everything has to have a beginning. God is everlasting to everlasting, God is the alpha and the omega, God is the beginning and the end.

1 Chronicles 16:36 (NLT): Praise the LORD, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting! And all the people shouted Amen! and praised the LORD.

Psalms 41:13 (NLT): Praise the LORD, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!

Psalms 90:2 (NLT): Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God.

Isaiah 40:28 (NLT): Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.

When God populated this world with human beings, he started it with Adam and Eve. When that didn’t work out, God decided to destroy all of mankind except for Noah and his family.

Genesis 6:5-13 (RSV): The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them. But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God. And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh; for the earth is filled with violence through them; behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Genesis 7:7 (RSV): And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark, to escape the waters of the flood.

After the flood, God made a covenant with Noah; and when that didn’t work out, he decided to make a covenant with Abraham and start with a new nation that would worship him. He would be their God, and they will be his people.

From the beginning of creation, God has always wanted Fellowship with mankind. It would seem that mankind wanted to go its own way and was not concerned with having Fellowship with its Creator. God, who is the Creator, seems to always be bending backward to try to please mankind.

We are a selfish people, and it seemed that all we think of is self, which is us—our preservations, our directions, our desires, our ways, our goals. God has always given man a free will to choose for himself; along with that, he gave man a conscience to be able to discern good from evil.

God had always wanted harmony, peace, and joy to be part of mankind. From the very start, there was a murder when Cain killed Abel. From that enters anger, jealousy, envy, greed, selfishness, etc.

Genesis 4:8 (RSV): Cain said to Abel his brother, Let us go out to the field. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel, and killed him.

How heartbreaking it must have been to God who loved his creation and could see them destroying themselves. God had prophets to convey his Word to his creation, and still there were hard-pressed to listen.

As we read through the Scriptures, we see so many stories of godly men who have turn to sin at one time or another in their lives. Some have repented and come back to God; and some died to their sin and are eternally lost, which is spiritual death.

God gave Moses the Ten Commandments in order for the people to know when they were doing wrong, but it seemed that even with the commandments, all they did was put condemnation on themselves. For being who they were in the human nature, for some, it was hard to follow the laws.

It took God himself, eventually, to come down to this world and try to redeem his people. Here we have the God of creation in the heaven; and yet he stepped down to this world of corruption to seek us out, find us, and try to bring us back home to him. How bad could it be for us? We behave as a spoiled child would, who is not listening to his parents and tires to be totally independent, following his own desires.

When God in the flesh—who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—walked on this earth, there were still those that didn’t believe. They were with God, yet they did not see God. The only ones that really seek God were those who were having physical problems, yet there were some who truly believed in God.

Jesus began the church ministry with his disciples, yet there were others who followed in his path. As I stated before, there always has to be a beginning, and Jesus started his ministry with a few chosen people. There were others who followed Jesus and also learned to be followers.

Mark 9:38-41 (NKJV): Now John answered Him, saying, Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us. But Jesus said, Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is on our side. For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.

We have been instructed to spread the good news, for there are many who still have not heard the Gospel. There are some who have heard the Gospel, but still don’t quite understand it. It’s like they still have the world in their minds, yet trying to understand the ministries of God. You cannot have both; you must completely empty your mind of this world and learn to listen only to God.

We need to quit asking so many questions and try to listen to what God has been trying to tell us from the very beginning. The only way we can ever have tranquility, peace, and joy is to have Fellowship with our Creator. We may be in this world, but our rightful place is in God’s world.

Jesus Christ is coming back for his church, and we need to be prepared; we have had so many warnings, yet we pretend like nothing is ever going to happen. In the days of Noah, people were warned about the impending peril, yet no one paid any attention—everybody went about with their daily life without any concern. Then without warning, the impending doom came. Everybody was lost except for Noah and his family who were in the ark.

Matthew 24:37-38 (NKJV): But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark.

We are being warned today, yet we go about our business like nothing is ever going to happen and the world will be here forever. That is what our enemy, the devil, wants us to think. He goes around trying to deceive many—just like he and his fallen angels rebelled against God, he wants the human race to rebel against God.

He is the father of lies, deception; and he will try whatever it takes to keep us from God. From the very beginning, our forefathers seek God. The pilgrims left England to come to America to have better freedom of religion. They knew basically that they needed God. It’s when we wander off and seek our own independence that we lose sight of God.

Why is it that when we have physical needs, we cry out to God; yet when we are comfortable and have no needs, we turn away from God or, we could just say, we cruise away from God’s directed instead of going along his way.? We have been warned! We need to follow the path that God has laid out for us.

Matthew 4:14-20 (RSV): That what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned. From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And he said to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

Some of the many reasons why it maybe so hard to stay on the path which leads to Christ could be doubt, lack of faith, or lack of interest in the things of God. We need to give up those foolish things that keep our hearts away from serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the manner that he would have us serve him.

In our society today, we live in a country that was founded on the principles of God. There was no place we could look and not see In God We Trust and In the Name of God, yet so many are being deceived by Satan in removing God from our society.

We used to have prayer in school, and that has been removed. It would seem that you could talk about any religion in the world as long as God is not mentioned. There are so many people who are letting Satan deceive them into believing that there is no God.

Satan knows that his time is short; so he keeps himself busy, along with his fallen angels, in trying to deceive as many as he can. And he will use whatever he can, which would include false prophets, false teachers, and false preachers. We need to be aware as Christians and stand firm on God’s principles.

We know who we are; we are children of the Most High God because we are heirs of the kingdom of God and know that Satan has been defeated at the cross. He also knows that because he tried to use the Scriptures against us and turn us away from God.

Romans 8:14-15 (NLT): For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, Abba, Father.

Satan, since he has read the Scriptures, knows that he is defeated, but that does not stop him from getting you defeated. He likes nothing better than to see you turn away from God. He is your enemy and is not your friend,
