To my son, I love you. Thank you for being by my side through all my bad decisions and hardships.
For others, reading my life story may give you the strength for survival and the tools to say enough is enough. This book may break or make my relationship with the people in my life; I’m prepared for that.
People forget that they can fall short or make some dumb decisions in their life. Never treasure material things, nor frown upon the less fortunate; you’ll never know if that might be you, and you will need a real, true friend.
Early Childhood
For as early as I can remember, my father and I had a bond that was unbreakable. My parents got separated when I was about two years old. I wanted to live with my father, but it didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. I was forced to live with my mother, along with one of my older brothers. My mother and I weren’t that close, like mothers and daughters are supposed to be. She and my brother had a bond similar to my father’s and mine.
I was Daddy’s little girl; some weekends when I would spend time with him, he would do my hair. Well, try to anyway; a ponytail here and a ponytail there, I looked like Finding Nemo (laugh). But my daddy did it, so I didn’t care; I wore that hairstyle with pride. Often we would go get ice cream and candy, knowing my mother didn’t like me eating a lot of sweets or junk food. My father didn’t care; I would just give him that puppy dog look with my big eyes, and it was all it took.
My dad grew up in a household with six sisters; he was the only boy. Growing up as a country boy wasn’t easy for him; he learned from his father, at a young age, how to become a strong man. My grandfather wasn’t always around, so Pops had to learn some ways on his
