AUTHOR’S STORY

In 1978 I stood before Swami Muktananda at the front of a large, dimly-lit meditation hall in an ashram in South Fallsburg, NY. The Swami touched my bowed head lightly with a wand of peacock feathers. An intense flash of energy flowed through me. Astonished, I looked up at his face, but I could only see a vast sea of brilliant red-orange light.
