    Preface

Aristotle coined the phrase metaphysics to mean the beginning of all things. There is a huge debate about what the word metaphysics means today. It covers a host of new age philosophy, and modalities. For the purposes of this book, I am referring to Aristotle’s definition, the beginning of all things, which of course, is God. So from here on out, metaphysics refers to anything outside of the box of pew warming Christianity.

This book actually came out of an argument on Facebook about what forms of Alternative Healing were OK for Christians to use. I am a Native American/Irish Catholic, who believes that God is bigger than we give Him credit for. I recently listened with intent to some of my Catholic sisters who were debating certain forms of healing as being evil because they had their roots in Eastern Religions. This became a rather heated debate, and one in which I found myself entering with great reluctance.

So, I set about to write what I believe about God, healing, and the Christian in relation to Metaphysics, and the discussion of good vs. evil when it comes to the marvelous beings that God made us to be. The many modalities of Natural Healing, regardless of their origins, are gifts. I would hate to see a Christian miss out on being healed because of fear. I cannot reconcile what I am told is wrong/evil with what I know in my heart to be true and good when it comes to the amazing gifts that God has given to help us.

As Christians, our witness teaches us that we lead others to Christ by the example of our lives, by allowing others to see Christ in us. What I hear, though, is that there is no value in any belief system but our own, and anyone or anything outside Christian teaching is evil. Rather than open discussion and loving debate, we think it righteous to bludgeon non-believers with threats of hell and damnation. What if we are wrong?

What if, as I have always believed, God speaks to us according to our ability to understand Him? What if, all of the religions of the world (save a few, truly evil ones) do indeed worship the same God, the one True God? What does God think about us tuning out and turning off everyone who thinks differently than we do? Are we inadvertently insulting God?

A devout Catholic that I know recently refused to allow me to bring a friend along on a visit to her home because the friend studies astrology. Did the Holy Family turn away the Wise Men (astrologers) because they followed a star to find the King of Kings? Or did they, with great humility, welcome them and accept their gifts?

What about the many gifts in nature that God has created for us to heal ourselves. Are we just supposed to ignore them because we have accepted Jesus as our personal savior? Does that exempt us from caring for the environment, growing life giving (vs. GMO) food to feed ourselves, and using natural means to heal ourselves (herbs, minerals, stones, energy) vs. pharmaceuticals?

What if… we could heal the world, one body, and one heart at a time? What if we, were capable in our lifetime of bringing the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth? What if, instead of heated debate about who is right and who is wrong, we honored each other? What if our prayers focused on filling everyone on earth, and the earth itself, with the Unconditional love of the Creator of All that is? God, the Father, is Love. Jesus is Love. The Holy Spirit is Love. I believe that the answers lie in asking the questions out of Love, not out of the need to be right.

It is because of these many questions that I have taken upon myself this book. It is my hope that as I work out these issues for myself, you will find some answers in its pages. Namaste.
