Melissa K. Melton
A kindhearted soul with a passion for poetry a wonderfully wild runner, mother, sister, wife and friend. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri to faithful and loving parents the ninth child out of ten. At a young age, I started writing poetry and playful running. Senior year of high school joined cross country team. Cross country proved challenging however I did not give up and received in honorary letter. In college, my poetry placed in a math theme contest and I continued to run 5K's. When my Mother became terminally ill, I started running longer distances. After the passing of both parents, running like poetry became my solstice. In 2013, I joined RUNbelieveable a running group. I have successfully completed over fifty races from 5Ks to 100 miles and logged over 7000 total miles. Currently residing in Kansas City suburb married for over 20 years and a mother to one loving daughter.
