A Mt Oxford Odyssey Mum

When it comes to discussions around adventure not many people attach the word mum in the description. To be fair many mums wouldn’t put their name and adventure in the same sentence either. In 2019 a survey conducted by Sport England revealed that 61% of women feel guilty about taking time to exercise. Women are literally putting the importance of their own health below that of their families. It's no wonder when we live with this kind of guilt that somewhere along the road we can lose ourselves. We lose our confidence, our sense of self-worth and our resilience. We spend time helping our children create resilience and build confidence. Encouraging them to become strong and brave, ready to face the world. But what about us? Personally I can’t think of a better way to help them become a strong and brave adult than to be one ourselves.
