Chapter 1

Tension rippled through my body. My brain felt like it was going to burst through my skull and splatter against the bathroom wall tiles. I wasn't alone, and I knew what lurked in the dark. It was a vampire.

My body felt heavy as I quickly dried myself and wrapped the towel around me. I grabbed my trusty weapon and prised open the door, listening for any sounds. There was nothing. From my vantage point, I could see right across my little place. The cabin was part of the local caravan park. It was a holiday cabin that suited me perfectly. I didn't have to find furniture. I could leave whenever I wanted to. It was a low set cabin that held no more than one room. It housed my bed in the corner, the lounge and television in another and the small kitchen behind it. And, of course, the bathroom I was standing in. 

I was on the very edge of the caravan's estate. The place faced the road, and it was almost like I was a stand-alone house, rather than a cabin in a caravan park. My neighbour to the left was another semi-permanent resident, a sweet old man that always waved hello as he ambled down the path to collect his morning paper. On the right was a house. Its resident was a very fine young man that constantly tried to rouse my interest in him. I was yet to take him
