    The clock chime rings through the ballroom, and I’m out of time. This night has been a hurried blur, but now everything slows down until I notice every detail. Prince Siegfried twirls Odile in his arms. Her silk skirt ripples like water, the motion spreading slowly through the fabric. When she laughs, the sound takes an eternity to reach me as it fills the silence between the chimes.
